Hi all.

Can anyone help me with the introduction melody from 77. Is that from a song ? Or just a tune TCB-band created ?

You can hear it here after singing Hurt:

I haven't got a clue. Wasn't it called "Jazzing In Vegas" as a refreshing alternative to "Hail Hail Rock 'n Roll"?

Thank you for the confirmation!

The version from his last concert is definitely the best. He hit an incredible note to complete the orchestra's err.. jazzing around!

Maybe you are thinking of the melody that the Hilton orchestra is playing. Because that is Jazzing i Vegas. I am thinking of the melody tcb-band is playing meanwhile elvis introduce everyone. Jd sumner and so on.

LOL, can't help you there. I had this association with Joe Guercio's orchestra since you mentioned "Hurt" (and if I remember correctly the song was being done after the orchestra did its part).

I always thought it was a structured jam around a twelve bar blues as it doesn't seem to have much of a defined melody.

The one that has always puzzled me is the music played during the intros for Aloha.

I thought it was by George Benson, Breezin' maybe, but I've just listened to it & it isn't. Then I thought maybe it was Groovin', but it isn't that either. I know I've got it by someone somewhere, and I'm sure it's either a jazz guitar or vibraphone playing the melody.

I believe the song played during the band introductions in "Aloha" is called "Coming Home, Baby" and was originally recorded by Mel Torme - at least that's the info I'm getting from "Elvis: His Life From A To Z". It was also played at most concerts during 1972.

Thanks for putting me out of my mystery! It isn't a familiar title to me, so I don't know which jazz tune I'm thinking of.
I looked through the same book for George Benson, Breezin' & the TCB band, but gave up after each of those drew a blank. I would have had to start at A, working my way through to T before I found it if you hadn't answered. It's a huge book!

Introduction melody from 72-75 or something is the song "Coming home baby", you can hear it clearly by Micheal Bublè`s song.
