He was an innovative guitar player for sure. I respect good finger players.

On top of that, he had talent spanning across multiple disciplines, if you know what I mean.

I appreciate the old-fashioned honesty of such a man. He was not a plastic celebrity.

It was cool to be able to hear Jerry messing around with Elvis on the FTD So High, just before that great take of Too Much Monkey Business.

Aawww, the original Guitar Man is dead.
I LOVED Jerry's remarks about first meeting Elvis.
It was some amateuristic, homevideo like, show of interviews with
people who'd known and met Elvis, hosted by George Klein. Jerry
was on a couch with Felton Jarvis and he said something like
"I walked into the room and there it was. He was so goodlooking,
I couldn't help myself but say 'D.A.M.N., you're beautiful!' (looking at a
smiling Jarvis) I mean, wasn't he? I'm no fool. He was one of the
d.a.m.n.dest prettiest things I'd ever seen, male or female."
Love ya Jerry, R.I.P.

Cool that Jerry didn't bother to ask himself whether or not it was allowed to find a man beautiful.

They was quick with his funeral. How do they get funerals so quick?

My family had to wait 2 weeks before my late dad could have his funeral. You know what I am trying to say here.

I was quite saddened to learn the news today.

Jerry was one of my musical "heroes" growing up. His guitar playing always amazed me, but I also enjoyed his acting roles too, especially in Smokey & The Bandit. He also was a fine story teller as well, especially on some of the local fishing shows that used to air on tv here in Atlanta.

RIP Snowman...10-4 http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV5BMjA2ODUyNTA1MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDM4NzU3MQ@@._ V1._CR0,0,379,379_SS90_.jpg

My brother met him about 5 years ago and he said Jerry was as down to earth and nice as anyone in the music business he ever met.
He was a pretty good actor also, check out the Burt Reynolds movie "Gator" Jerry plays a great bad guy and he pulls it off with ease.
