The first album I owned was the first vinyl album made. I played over and over on my children style record player and scratched the devil out of it.

"On Stage". I especially liked "Release Me" and "I Can't Stop Loving You". The disc is worn out, but still playable.

Not completely sure but I think the first LP album I bought was the 1956 "Elvis". I remember it had Blue Moon on it, or the one Sweet Caroline posted above.

Wasn't was fun to be there in the beginning and go along

For xmas in 1972 I recieved Elvis' Golden Records vol 1 and a Mickey Mouse record player. The recoed player was the plastic kind you could carry around with the handle attached to the lid. That player never saw any action other than Elvis.I refused to buy a non Elvis record until I was 19 years old. Some 12 years later.

Good topic. I'm having a hard time remembering. I do remember vividly what got me into Elvis. It was seeing TTWII on PBS late one night around 1997 when I was in high school. Soon after I ordered Aloha From Hawaii on VHS. But the first album? The first single CD I remember getting was "an afternoon in the garden". But I think the first music item I bought was actually the 4-Cd Platinum Box Set. I remember hearing An American Trilogy for the first time and being totally blown away.

I must have been about 11 and I've never purchases an LP before. Me and brother both picked out one LP we each could have. I picked KISS, Dystroyer and my brother picked, Elvis' Paradised Hawaiian Style". we got home listened to them and I asked him, Do you wanna trade? he quickly said, yes!. That's how it all started, after that my first 45 record was, Heartbreak Hotel & That's All Right. Not that I don't like Kiss' music it was just that, I felt Elvis had more personality and something about his voice, even on that movie soundtrack drew me to becoming a big fan.http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q24/Danno007/ELVIS%20is%20King/Elvisparadisehawaiianstyle12.jpg

Elvis' Christmas Album. Introduction to Gospel music! Not exactly what I expected. But grew to love it.
Mine was probably A date with Elvis. :king:

My first Elvis album in my collection was Elvis sings Flaming Star.
I can't remember the first album I bought myself but I think it was Almost In Love budget album. Such a long time ago but I do know what the first boxset I bought was 50 Worldwide Gold Award Hits Vol 1. I got told off for buying this as it was a week's wages in the early 70's. It cost me £6 which was still in old money.

Live in Memphis and the double LP that was available only on TV. Got them both when they first came out. Can't remember which I had first.
However, I got In The Ghetto single when it first came out years before I got any albums.

I don't recall the title of the album, but I do remember it was red with his picture on the cover and it had the song "Burning Love" on it. I must have gotten the album in 72-73 time frame. I remember playing that album over and over again.

the first albums i bought with my own money were Elvis in Memphis and Elvis Country. i was 12. i'd asked for and got a couple before as presents, Moody Blue, Elvis is Back and Elvis for Everyone. But i remember clearly the buzz at buying my first two albums by Elvis.
My first Elvis album was Elvis Golden Records. The sleeve opens like a book containing various portraits of him.Had this album since 1958, which is something to treasure.

Same story for me Caroline, wore the "Heck" out of it on the same type of equipment as you mentioned.
A classic moment in my life I will never forget buying it, or where I bought it, as it left a mark on me thankfully that will stay with me fot the rest of my life.
Thanks Elvis for showing me how to enjoy my life, and the enjoyment of your music through out it so far..:king: :king: :king: (y)

The very first album I owned was given to me by a kid at school. Upon playing it,it was easy to see why he gave it to me. It was like a breakfast cereal. Full of snap, crackle and pop. But I treasured it any way.
