These are pics of the Hilton the day before his August '72 Summer Festival. We came a day early(08/03) and they were still putting the "finishing touches" on Elvis! In the 2nd pic the guys are up on scaffolds hanging the banners! :supriced: The last pic is of the "final product"!(y)
I went through photo albums today and found 79 pics of Elvis, the Hilton, Tupelo, Graceland etc....I'll put some more up later!

Don't feel too bad Carole...I'll tell you what Gail and I did. We saw both shows at the Astrodome in '74 and we had the front row type seating. So....here comes Elvis in the jeep, we are leaning through the railing literally inches from him and ......We neither one had our camera...EITHER time!!!!:supriced::supriced::supriced::lol::lol:

As unbelievable as it sounds....he was 100 times better in person. There is NO WAY to ever explain the man's charisma. And....he was at least 100 times more handsome as well.(y)(y)

I'll back you up 100E% on that one Rosanne anytime.(y) He was really beautiful to look at, his voice was so strong my husband said "he really doesn't need a microphone" and watching his movements on stage was like a great graceful tiger pacing back and forth with the same intensity emanating from him...am I right? Did you Rosanne and Gail feel that way too that there was something very special and unusual about this man?

Ladies you are so lucky..
I am just curious ..Diane, Gail and Rosanne
Is your hubby ALSO Elvis fans ?? or somebody have to 'convert' him ? :)
Do they ever get a little jealous when it comes to your love and admiration to Elvis ?

Yes, we did. Gail and I have discussed this. Remember seeing him on the stage and there was almost something magical about him? He had an aura around him that I've never seen another human come close to having. We would be so close to him in Vegas...he would seem like some "out of this world" presence. It's something we won't see again. I remember my Dad leaning over to my Mom and saying.....he's so handsome he doesn't look real.:notworthy:king::notworthy

My husband had alot of respect for Elvis, but he wasn't a fan in that he didn't have his records and go to his shows. He has completely enjoyed really getting to know Elvis through my stories. He gets a kick out of alot of the Elvis stories, because he was a man that guys can relate to. NO...my hubs has NEVER been jealous, he thinks husbands that are must be on the goofy side. He enjoyed our first Graceland trip tremendously...and has always encouraged me to continue my hobby of loving Elvis.:notworthy:king::notworthy

It's probably hard for me to be objective about that.:hmm: I will always go with 08/06/73. It was a great set list, he looked beautiful in the Aloha jumpsuit, I got a kiss, I got a scarf AND....I had literally the BEST seat in the showroom. Daddy said to Emilio...."let's skip the BS, tell me what you need for these 3 seats".:notworthy:notworthy:king:

My husband also has a great respect for Elvis and defends him when he hears trash. He was never a great fan in the sense most of us are as in collecting his albums etc. but he does agree the man was phenomenal and I don't feel is the least bit jealous of my love for Elvis.
