A unique picture of Elvis, shot in the streets of Los Angeles. We assume that it was taken in the mid-sixties. A fan was lucky enough to capture Elvis while he was enjoying a motorcycle ride with Johnny Rivers. But there’s another link to Elvis… Johnny Rivers was born on November 7th 1942 in New York City. When he was five, his family moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During his schooldays he had his own band, “The Spades.” Johnny Rivers's real name is Johnny Ramistella, Alan Freed (whom he met on a trip to New York in 1958) advised him to change his name to Johnny Rivers. Between march 1958 and march 1959 he put out several singles. He returned to Baton Rouge in 1959, where he met James Burton one year later, who was playing for Ricky Nelson at the time. James gave Ricky one of Johnny’s numbers “I’ll Make Believe”. Ricky recorded it and you can find it on his 1960 LP “More Songs by Ricky.” Rivers is now known as a singer/composer. He toured untill halfway the nineties and in 1998 he began to record again.
