here some stuff from the club archives and from our old newsletters.

The next two tours for the months of April and May for Elvis will be cities like: Greensboro (NC), Detroit (Mich), Toledo (Oh), Ann Arbor (Mich), Saginaw (Mich), Kalamazoo (Mich), Milwaukee (Wis), Greenbay (Wis), Duluth (Min), St-Paul (Min), starting in May; Chigago (2 shows), Saginaw (Mich), Largo (Maryland), Providence (R.I.), Augusta (Maine), Rochester (NY), Binghamton (2 shows), Philadelphia (Pa), Baltimore (Maryland), Jacksonville (fl) Macon (Ga), Mobile (Al).

Also from the Colonel office some news says that Las Vegas will be in December, nothing official yet, but will let you know as soon as I found out.

Elvis turned down one million dollars for one concert in Paris, France, saying they could not undersatnd what he is singing. But how come the Japanese can undersatnd and not speak the language ? Music is a universal language you know!

RCA RECORDED THE NEW YEARS EVE (in Pittsburgh) concert and says there will be a mid-year ``live`` album released. It will have 28 songs on it and some of the new songs are ``Unchained Melody`` played and sang by Elvis only no back up band or singers, ``Fairytale``, ``Rags To Riches``, ``Auld Lang Syne`` and of course ``Happy Birthday`` to Elvis.

from some newspaper stories from Elvis March Tour

From The Abilene ``Reporter-News``:
``It was a different Elvis Presley who returned to Taylor County Coliseum Sunday Night (March 27) after 2 and a half years between shows. He was healthier looking; he seemed more relaxed; he acted happier, and he gave more of himself. This time the King Of Rock N' Roll did 22 songs in 75 minutes, more than one every 3 1/2 minutes. Yet, despite doing so many songs, he was far from being a human music machine, as he joked back with adoring female fans, who sceemed, ``Elvis, I love You`` throughout the show. The show was not a sellout, but a fair estimate of attendance would be about 7, 500. Elvis wore a cream-white suit, trimmed in gold and with small gold chains draped from the waist band. The outfit was open almost to the beltline, showing several square inches of the chest, that has made female hearts pound for more than 20 years. And his music? Hos voice ? SENSATIONAL. It was all over after ``Can't Help Falling In Love`` and the man who is perhaps the world's TOP STAR seemed to have vanished, taking his music with him, but leaving the memories behind.

from the Austin ``American-Stateman March 28 1977..10;27pm
Elvis begins ``CC Rider``, into the second verse, the hips begin to undulate and the head begin to shake, although not as much as they did 20 years ago. 10;36pm...while singing, Elvis is throwing towels and scarves into the audience, as souvenir crazy females..many well into middle age...rush the stage.

But, you ask, can THE KING still sing ? Does the Pelvis really still swing ? YES, he can, and YES, it does, even if the latter has slowed down, STILL, it was the KING up there, going through a collection of new hits and old as only he can do them, backed up by an excellent show band and vocal group.

Elvis may be 42, but for many of the 6,000 fans Monday night time and stood still as they were again bopping to the ``Jailhouse Rock``.
LONG LIVE THE KING !

******************************
There is suppose to be a brand new album released somtime before July 1st. The album wil be called ``MOODY BLUE`` AND SOME THE SONGS ARE; ``Moody Blue``, ``She Think I Still Care``, ``Pledging My Love`` and some ``live`` performances of songs ``Little Darlin'`` and ``Unchained Melody``. It should be a great album by Elvis !

Rubbish, on both counts.

from some newspaper stories from Elvis March Tour

The fan clubs were obviously very selective in the reviews they decided to share with fans at the time, weren't they? Others from this time were not so positive.

Yeah that didn't seem to do their homework to well on this. There were alot of bad reviews on the end Philadelphia from May 28th 1977 is a good example of that.
