After reading a bit on another thread about Cybil Shepherd being haunted by Elvis. Was that true about Elvis being vicious in his later years?
Every time we see him on TV or film you couldn't believe Elvis could be vicious but we know he has a temper when things don't go right.
I know drugs can change people's behaviour.

for temper one doesn't need drugs..it is inherited..experience speaks:rolleyes::blush:
but it harms the person him/herself who has it..having temper doesn't always mean one can't control it,you can believe most people try hard to find a way to avoid it.. you can control a temper but it still harms you inside which is even worse..consideration and temper, they both give a bad ulcer and high blood pressure in time well I have both of'em..and don't even want to think of how Elvis dealt with it..but it seems he did well, considering others(people who have memories of his temper) are still alive, healthy and doing ok..:lmfao:

Elvis definitley inherited his famous temper from his mother.:P
Wasn't that a trait of Gladys side of the family?

I believe so Ken. Vernon always seemed to get it from her aswell when she would get mad...

Gladys had a temper because stardom was going to take her boy Elvis away from her. After being poor most of her life and when Elvis became famous she had plenty of money but she did not see Elvis most of the time at home.

Frank I'm sure she had the temper before Elvis hit fame.

Elvis had a temper all his life and a short fuse according to all accounts.
Lamar tells a good story of when Elvis and Galdys falred up at each other.
It was dinner time and Elvis told Gldays to stop taking so many diet pills ( ironic isn't it in hindsight ) and Gladys told Elvis not to be telling her what to be doing ( again - exactly what Elvis told people when they tried to tell him what to do in regard to the drugs ) anyway, apparently plates started to be flung around and Vernon was left in the middle of it while Lamar exited the room!

I can't believe elvis would behave rudely with his mother!

I don't consider that rude. Elvis was concerned about his mother's intake of diet pills and from all I've read, Elvis definitely inherited his temper from his mother.

I don't know the details of why, but with Johnny, it could have been most anything.

Everyone has a temper - Elvis' was probably no worse than yours or mine but magnified in the same way that everything was magnified about the man
Some people hold in their temper, trying to take life in stride-then it all comes out in a hurricaine type burst of bad energy.

I've heard Lamar tell this story aswell on the All The Kings Men dvd's Lamar is a good story teller I laughed my butt off !
And your right, it is ironic how it was Elvis telling her to stop taking the pills when you think how he was in the end and people telling him to stop them.

Yes and by all accounts he was just as stubborn to the calls for him to cease.
