Wouldnt it be nice if EPE bought all the 8mm footage of Elvis out thee that is good like the stuff on the Front Row Films dvdset 7 and put it out on the market..theres so much great stuff like the Soundboard films that deserves attention they have the money thats for sure i wish projects like that would come about sometime. What do you think, sure its not for the general public but I think its time FTD to come out with a DVD section to that way we could get EIC etc....(y)(y)(y)(y)

yes, it would be nice....
Unfortunately EPE pretty much suck. Their approach to Elvis' legacy is the same as Parker managed Elvis' carreer during his life: quantity over quality. As long as it sells with as little effort as possible.
Isn't it 'weird' that the best EPE came up in the 30 years after Elvis' death is the boxset dvd release of the Aloha and NBC special?
Ernst did more for Elvis, his fans, his legacy and his credibility as an artist than anyone at RCA/BMG and EPE. 'He started it all'...
The whole vivid bootleg market (weather it's LP, CD or DVD) is possible because the 'legal channels' don't bring the fans what they want. So fans start making their own (amazing!) releases.

Agreed Albert thank god for Ernst thats for sure. The only thing we ever get on the main RCA/BMG label is the same ol hits. (n)
They have to realize there are many hardcore dedicated fans that like to see nice releases with some stuff that we don't see released on cds to often.
Your right to its ashame they choose the same forula that you know what Parker did Quanity over quality...(n)

I've always thought FTD shuld come out with a video line. It only makes since, for instance to have included an official edited version of the NYE 76 concert video to add with the audience recording. It would have only made since from a marketing standpoint, and I would guarantee that everybody that bought that FTD would have bought the movie as well. Its also the perfect line for an EIC dvd, as its geared only for the true collectors, and it would have to be specially ordered, not bought in Walmart, and it is no more "offensive" to the fan than the Unchained Melody cd so why not??

Excellent points Brett.
Just like when they release indy 77 which im pretty sure they will that they could relese the 8mm fan footage from that too on video as its historic they could make a few very nice video projects if they used there mind and got creative..

it would only make sense. The same people that knmow about the FTD's are more times than not the same people who know of the 8mm films, combining the two would "bootleg the bootleggers" like Pink Floyd put it.
