I went to Bad Nauheim 2 weeks ago!

It's a wonderful town, and not just cuz of Elvis. You will have a great time.

I advice you to first go to Tourist Information, it's situated on the towns main road, called "Kollonaden".
At Tourist Info you can get brochures about what Elvis places you can visit, and where to find those.

You of course want to see Hotel Grunewald at the Elvis Presley Platz, his house over in Goethestrasse 14 and the famous Burgpforte.

The barracks are in Friedberg, 4km from Bad Nauheim. When I was there everything was closed. But during Elvis week it will be open and there will be shows in the Capri club, on the barracks grounds.

Check out my profile and look at the pics I posted there.

Have fun there!!!

Everything is still there!

The bridge is on what is called Elvis Presley Boulevard, the entrance to a huge park. The bridge is called USA bridge.

In the house in Goethestrasse there are people living who don't like Elvis-fans at all.
When during Elvis-Week to many appear close to the house they close the shutters loudly or even call the police .

Ups....I'll change it ;)

They are rather unfriendly also during the rest of the year, too.
Since I live close to Bad Nauheim I sometimes show friends who visit me where Elvis lived and worked during his army period.
When there are more than 2 people watching the house and the owner sees it he treats you like *****s.(n)

Hahahaha,

I never saw anyone there, just a Mercedes in the driveway behind the gate.

But don't let those fools spoil the fun. And let's be honest, one picture of that house is enough.

The area around Grunewald looks a lot nicer.

The owner of that car is not worth a view. :D

And I must admit that I donīt even have a picture of the house.
I always forget my camera at home when I got to Bad Nauheim.

Thank you Diane!

That reminds me of a couple of other things you want to see when you go there.

Opposite of the home in Goethestrasse, inside the park, is what is called: Gradierbau I.
That is a funny looking building, part of the Kurtown which Bad Nauheim is, with on the inside a combination of cold water and salt, to help the airways.

Story has it that Elvis visited this particular building, after being away in the field. It's fun to check it out.

And perhaps Cafe Bienenkorb in Bad Nauheim (close to the open air music theatre) where Elvis went for Chocolate cake on his 25th birthday.

Another must see is the Cafe/restaurant on Johannisberg, just behind Bad Nauheim. It has a lovely view over the city and Elvis visited that place on more than one occasion.

Probably the only places he did went in Germany, aside from Paris, France of course, while on leave.
