Hard to believe. Beautiful man with beautiful pipes, so much talent & charisma. I just wish that something or some one could have made a difference in his life. Just imagine how far he could have went. He had his vices just like everyone. He was human & made mistakes. It makes me mad when people (that are just plain stupid & have no coth make fun of him). He was special. He is missed. No other artist is celebrated like Elvis. 100 years from now they will be paying tribute to him. Elvis will always be the King. We miss you & love you. :'(

What gets me upset is what could have been. Elvis could have done so much more than what he did. People dont get me wrong he did great things during his career. But he could have done better movies and songs. He let himself get wrapped into just getting by on the fan's love instead of reiventing himself again. When you really look at it Elvis' career was from 1954-58 Then 68-77. He wasted so many years on the **** movies.

I agree he could've been doing greater things then the movies but I still find many very entertaining and thats what they were made for..Hal Wallis said they didnt hire elvis for dramatic roles, they hired Elvis Presley. And your right theres way to many missed oppurtunities to dwell on the list could be endless to mention them all...which is why i find enjoyment in almost all the music and films Elvis made because theres no use in dwelling because theres no changing history.

trust me we understand. we love him. It's hard to understand what he went through. but he is still loved by millions. life is very fragile. I believe that he just muttled his way through those last few years. He was a lost soul wanting help, but in the same sense was too proud or scared to ask for it. That man did NOT need thsoe drugs. Do not get me started on that worthless doctor of his. but he would have have found another doctor to give him what he needed. it happens time & time again with anyone that has that much power & stardome. But he was so different. Trust me it really stinks. we miss him & just wish that things could have been different. I just pray that he knows that we all love & miss him. And he does. he is looking down & smiling knowing that he is loved.

It's funny you say this. Reminded me when Sonny West said on the documentary the last days of Elvis, that that is what worried Elvis he didn't want their compassion, he didn't want them saying god bless you Elvis we all have our problems...he was above everyone...thats from Sonny. I don't think he wanted help either because he was so in denial he honestly didn't think there was anything wrong with him.

well i just say what i feel. Elvis was a very special person. if i could have helped him @ all I would have. but how do you help someone that won't help themselves? and besides I'm not Sonny, they were so bitter that they wrote a book about him. true friends where they? maybe not. wanted to make money off him like everyone else. nobody will ever know what really happen. we can debate this till the end of time, but the end result is Elvis is gone. loss of a life is aways heartbreaking. I'm sure he wants us to be happy with what he left us & not stand around & argue. It will never bring him back. beside he'd kick our butts. everyone have a great day.

How do you know Sonny and them didn't write the book to present Elvis with a challenge to clean his act up like he had done previously for aloha show for example...so I honestly think thats what the intentions was!!

i agree i wanted elvis to just be reall be himself and show the world what reall talent he had instead of following on like a sheep he made some fantastic music and ttwii and elvis on tour were fantastic movies but he could have done so much more think of a world tour maybee work with the producer steve binder who did the 68 comeback he had alot of personal problems and personal battles and it must have been hard to break the mould he was in but all we have is what he left behind i i must say he left an awful lot behind for us to enjoy for many years to come the man was a legend

You know we go on and on about how much more Elvis could have done and been when in reality he achieved what no other artist had done before nor will ever so why not give him credit for that and stop wishing for more?

diane you are right and i'm not being ungratefull i just wish he explored his full potential he changed so much and yes he has done more than any other entertainer in the world but its hard not to think about how much more he could have done and could have changed no one will ever come close to what elvis acheived cos he has already kicked down those musical doors

I agree to a point but mostly I just wish he could have lived to a healthy old age even if I had to listen to the same old repertoire over and over again.
No doubt there are things he could have done that would have been better for him and for us but that's not what happened so I accept it. It's so pointless to wish for the what-could-have-beens and in his case, also heartbreaking.
