LOS ANGELES (CNN) -- In 1963, Sandy Martindale, like a lot of teen-age girls, kept a diary. Unlike the diaries of other girls, however, Martindale's was about real-life experiences with Elvis Presley.
"It was when I was in love with Elvis," she says.
"There were kiss days and unkiss days," she says, "and we would kiss so much ... well, we would kiss a lot. The next day I'd go to school and I'd have to put make-up on because my skin would be raw."
Elvis and Martindale kissed off the screen, but never on, although Martindale danced in three of Presley's movies. One of them was "Viva Las Vegas!," which co-starred Ann-Margaret.
"I think he really loved Ann-Margaret," says Carol Connors.
Conners was a songwriter and lead singer for the Teddy Bears, whose greatest hit was "To Know Him Is To Love Him."
"I fell in love with him, and he supposedly fell in love with me," Connors says. "He was my first boyfriend, my first love."
Elvis loved these women tender. . . Gloria Hillard reports.
Elvis has been linked to a number of other women as well, including Connie Stevens, Cybill Shepherd and Natalie Wood. And it was the demure Nancy Sinatra who met him when he returned from the Army.

But it was Priscilla he married, in 1967.
"When he got married," says Martindale, "I was in San Francisco with Brenda Lee. We picked up the paper and read that he'd got married, and we both cried."
Robert Diaz LeRoy, director of a movie called "Elvis Is Alive," said that in filming the movie "We had a kiss-and- tell get together with women who say they dated Elvis, and one of them made an interesting comment."
She said, "They were lined up outside his house like a bakery. Take a number, you know?"
"It's hard for someone to be in that position, loving women the way he did, to not have these affairs," says Joe Esposito, Elvis' longtime road manager.
"He was the greatest," says Connors.
"He was just so special," says Martindale.
Both Martindale and Conners say they remained friends with Elvis right up to the end. Elvis was like that, they say.
"He had a way of breaking up with women in a nice way," Esposito says.
Conners is still writing songs, and Martindale married game show host Wink Martindale, but Elvis still has a special place in her heart. She's got her diary, his pajamas and a dog named Rocky Elvis who howls along with her when she sings Elvis tunes.
