On July 5, 2008 opened another wax statue museum in Berlin in Germany. This museum features a new statue of Elvis as a G.I.., nur wenige Meter entfernt vom Brandenburger Tor.

Madame Tussauds, Unter den Linden 74, 10117 Berlin

They've done a good job, but they still haven't captured his likeness, in my opinion. I don't think it can be done, lol.

Thanks so much for sharing, Jen.

Is that a real girl?... I'd better grab the statue and pack it to bring it into my own room... :lmfao:

I agree with you Kimmi. It is well done, but there is still something missing, something not quite right. You can't find charisma in a wax mold.;);):blush:

It goes to show Rosanne, how much life force he had within him. I agree, he radiated his kindness, his personality, in every facial expression. They can't mold that. You know, so many of the wax dummies really do look like the people, this time, the talented artists, just couldn't add that extra part of Elvis, that we all love.

LOL, Wendy, you are on the right track! hehe (y)(y):lmfao:

You are so right Jess!! Elvis was the whole package not just his looks! I find wax figures very creepy, even though they require a lot of skill to make.

Gidday you beautifully named person, lol.

I haven't observed a wax figure in the flesh (hehe).

I'm still thinking of going to Wendy's and pinching her latest acquisition, lol.

Its a great job they have done there. (y)
I read in the paper the other day that after the waxwork of Hitler was put on display, only a couple of days ago in Germany also, a man came and punched making the head fly off. Pretty stupid to give Hitler to the germans imo.
Hitler gets punched, while Elvis gets hugged.

There is something right with the world

Best likeness i've seen. Of course they can't capture the real Elvis. They should make one at age 73.:lmfao:

How could they possibly figure out exactly what he would have looked like at age 73? Too many variables to take into consideration and besides it's redundant as he never got there.

I have to say the Wax model looks pretty good considering they haven't got the real Elvis to style it from!

IMO there aren't very many statues that capture Elvis, too many people go for stereo types rather than Elvis himself.

I was only joking.. Y'all got all defensive on "Ol John" for a moment. I wish he had made it to 73 or even 43.;)

I didn't mean to sound defensive John...it just didn't make sense to me. :D
