I just love to go out (when i can afford it) and get the latest and best Elvis merchandise...but i was shocked when i recieved my Shop Elvis catalogue the other day to find a range, called "Viva Las Vegas", containing t-shirts and baby gros styled on Elvis's infamous jumpsuits...and before you say that sounds good, then you should see them. I couldn't get a picture for here but i can paste the link for you to see them on shopelvis.com

Kids T- Shirt http://www.shopelvis.com/Product.aspx?cp=796_3834&pc=EPCT235

Baby Gro http://www.shopelvis.com/Product.aspx?cp=796_3834_11160&pc=EPCM168

There are also men and womens versions of these designs, which i think are worser still...but they are not currently on the shopelvis website for some reason

That is silly IMO. Sillerman is the one who coming out with these stupid ideas. I doubt very much Lisa likes seeing all the crap there selling, but she doesn't have much say anymore.

You really are one lucky young man. That situation could have turned out much worse than it did..not just for you but for the other's home and pool as well. I promise you it will make you a better, more alert driver from now on.

My son had always been very good about wearing his seatbelt. Two years after his accident he finally got up the nerve to say "Mom...I wasn't wearing my seat belt that night." The talking heads etc you mention may be going "too far" but they (unlike, say toilet paper or whatever) are not in poor taste. They're just tacky.

Despite Lisa selling the majority of her stake in Graceland, she still controls stuff like this. You can bet your bottom dollar that each item sold at Graceland and through EPE has been given at least her tacit approval. She would have at least seen a picture of the items and said yes or no.

Common sense, and Lisa's own quotes re what she does within the framework of the business.

You can't seriously suggest that a woman who purportedly cares "so much" about her father's image (;)) would approve for sale something that she did not like, or at least something that she was okay with?

I just came from browsing around at Elvis.com. The list of things to sell seems to grow by leaps and bounds every month. There are several "tacky" items listed, and underneath it does say Available at Graceland. Since she has all the rights to the "Graceland" TM I am assuming that this is something she knows full well about.:blink:

I saw those talking heads when we were there in April. Thank God they have now been moved down to the bottom shelves, usually in a corner. She may have thought they were tacky, but I think she probably let them pass on through.;);)

I think her nod of approval is most likely very brief, but I think she has at least an idea of what is being sold across the street from home. If not....shame on her!:supriced:

Just what does Lisa do within the framework of the business---now that she no longer owns it?

I'm curious about that myself. Sillerman controls 85% of EPE, while Lisa owns 15%. Sillerman is unlikely to have paid out over $100 million without taking on all of the rights of a majority owner.

And Lisa really had nothing to do with EPE even when she owned the company. There's a reason Priscilla has been so visible, and that's because Lisa left her mother in charge long after her trust expired and she inherited Elvis' estate outright. If Lisa ever had had any real interest in Elvis' estate, she would have taken over from her mother at 25 and wouldn't have sold to Sillerman in 2004.

I'm also puzzled at the idea that EPE licensing junk is a new development. I thought EPE was notorious (and frequently criticized) for licensing any junk that could bring in money long before Sillerman was in the picture.

No one is wise enough or experienced enough to run a major corporation at 25.

Lisa Marie knew that, long before she was 25. Hence, she delayed her takeover.

Her interest in her father's estate, while misguided at times, is very real.

That is why she did not take the reins of EPE at such a young age.

I assume she would have had advisors, just as Priscilla did. But the fact remains that when Lisa's trust expired and Lisa inherited outright, she created a new trust and left Priscilla in charge. I've never seen any evidence that Lisa had any real interest in Elvis' estate, and selling it off clinches that for me. What sources do you have that show Lisa ever has had an active role in EPE?

And again, Lisa sold 85% of EPE to Sillerman in 2004. She's a minority owner, nothing more. She retains title to Graceland and Elvis' personal property, that's it.

Sillerman calls the shots with EPE now, not Lisa or Priscilla. He can sell EPE off if he wants - and judging by his history, he will, if it's not profitable enough for him.

If you have any sources proving that Sillerman paid out $100 million to Lisa without getting all the rights of a majority owner, I'd like to see them.

Everything I've read about the estate sale has been consistent. This is from an IHT article regarding EPE, CKX, and the proposed transaction with 19X:

Lisa Marie Presley still owns her father's house and 15 percent of Elvis Presley Enterprises, but CKX controls Graceland and its complex of souvenir shops and museums. "As great as it is," Sillerman said after a recent visit to Graceland, "it can be so much better."

http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/08/03/business/grace.php

As I said, if there's anything out there indicating that Sillerman isn't in charge now, I'd like to see it, because Sillerman would have to be incredibly stupid to pay Lisa $100 million without getting all of the rights in EPE that any other majority owner would have.

And Sillerman definitely isn't stupid.

No, Sillerman isn't stupid by a long shot, or he'd not be where he is.

I was looking for something that gave Sillerman an option to purchase too, but I can't find it now. It's somewhere else on this site. It was also shown at the "Elvis Insiders." I'll find it eventually. :)

Maybe Lisa has little to say now that Sillerman owns 85% of EPE but it was hers untill then and the tacky stuff were there when she had full control. In my opinion she never wanted to be the face of EPE for that and other things related to that but donīt forget she has been living off the bussiness all her life while letting her mother to be the representative of it all. To me Lisa didnīt want to look like he was living off her father and Priscilla was and is very happy for living from that and the attention she gets for it. A perfect team.
