Hi,

this book comes up on ebay at times, and a quick search of ebay.co.uk now shows 2 copies on auction at the moment, and one copy of 'The Final Years'

http://search.ebay.co.uk/elvis-jerry-hopkins_W0QQsofocusZbsQQsorecordsperpageZ50QQsofin dtypeZ0QQfromZR6QQnojsprZyQQpfidZ0

Hope that helps.

Ebay is the best thing that happened to the Elvisworld :D. Well, after Ernst of course :P

...and worst, perhaps!

Of course many of the people selling all their misrepresented items would be doing the same without eBay, but there is a certain amount of protection and lack of accountability on there. So I think a lot of the scumbag sellers (which even some of the most reputable ones can be) have really capitalized on those aspects of it, as well as the mass exposure to people who don't know any better.

I have used eBay to help build my audio/video collection and overall think it's a great thing. You have to be an educated, discerning, and patient buyer, particularly if you are looking for things of higher value. If I had a lot of money to burn and a desire to purchase a genuine collector's item, personally I would look for it somewhere else.

Glad you got your book, Sarah. :D

That is SO true buddy!! I can remember when eBay was in it's infancy a few years ago, and that's when I bought a bunch of Elvis items for my collection! But the best part was that I could talk back and forth with the seller, and in the case of a couple of items that were a bit expensive, the seller actually put me into contact with the people that they got the item from, so I was able to follow the trail of the items I was purchasing and get some true authenticity!

But now-a-days, I find that you are lucky if you can talk to the sellers themselves, let alone follow the trail to acquire the authenticity of an item. And so many of the Elvis items being offered on eBay today are obvious fakes, just from looking at the photos being posted of the items. It truly is a shame that there are so many people out there willing to prey upon Elvis fans that don't have the necessary knowledge to make an informed purchase, and those people wind up spending a fortune on a fake item. Not to mention the fact that it discredits EVERYONE selling Elvis items on eBay, so if you are trying to sell a legitimate Elvis item, you might not have as much success simply because everyone is so leary of all of the fake items that are out there! :'(

But, I do agree with Bobby that if you are knowledgable in what you are buying, then eBay really is a great place to buy items for your Elvis collection!

CONGRATULATIONS SARAH ON WINNING YOUR BOOK!!!

TCB!
