The King would reign with Simon Cowell, says survey
The king, the princess and the blonde are the ones people most want resurrected, a British poll shows.
The DVD release of the show Pushing Daisies, which follows a young man who can bring people back to life with a single touch, inspired a British poll that asked citizens who they’d most like to see revived.
King of rock ‘n’ roll Elvis Presley came in first with 23 per cent of the votes. Diana, Princess of Wales, came in second with 20 per cent of votes, while Marilyn Monroe took third place.
Former prime minister Winston Churchill and football captain Bobby Moore also made the Top 10 in the Warner Home Video survey of 2,000 people.
Participants in the survey were also asked what they thought these stars would be doing if they were alive – six in 10 saw Elvis as a judge on American Idol.
Also on the list was William Shakespeare, whom people thought would be writing songs for Amy Winehouse, and King Henry the VIII, whom almost 50 per cent said would have created the ultimate diet.
If Elvis were alive, he might have bought a CD by Season 6 Idol runner-up Blake Lewis and helped him stay afloat.
Despite the beat-boxing singer being a fan favourite during the competition, his first CD Audio Daydream failed to produce a hit single and sold only 300,000 copies since its release last December. So, it’s no surprise that his record label, Arista, opted against doing a second CD with him.
Arista has also canned former Idol winners Taylor Hicks, Ruben Studdard and runner-up Katharine McPhee this year.
