A longtime ago I bought a box set of Audio Books called "The Elvis Interviews".The titles of these CDs are"Talking To The King","Eye Of The Hurricane" & "On The Road".Something that was on these was an interview that was done in '61.There is a lot of hammering and banging in the back ground so I'm guessing it may have been done on a movie set.
I can't really make out some of the questions being asked as I think the interviewer kept the mic on Elvis the whole time.
I'd actually forgot about this interview as I haven't played them for some time.It really struck me how open Elvis was about this subject, as it was treated as Shock Horror after he died.
Anyway,I'd like to share the trans sript of this interview with you all.

Elvis: Not very many people know it, but I keep up with modern medicine,medical science,medical discoveries,different diseases.Nobody knows that,but.....and I've been doing it for a long long time....you know. I get doctors hand books.....PDR which is a Physicians Desk Reference.It's very interesting.
At one time, when I got out of school I....ah....wanted to be a Doctor or something....ah....in the medical profession.That's what I thought I wanted to be but I didn't have money to go to college.But ....I....ah.... got interested in it,and it's pretty interesting.But....ah....I don't read any of the books much that other people read.

He was later asked if he smoked.And he replied "Yes,but I don't inhale."
He bet Clinton by years,but then Bill is an Elvis fan.
I hope that this gave you an insite into Elvis.I just wish I could upload the audio to this.
