For real. I'm sure if it were true, she would make a pretty penny off of them.

Of maybe, if she is telling the truth, they are somewhat scared to her and don't want the rest of the world to have the taped conversation she had with Elvis.....

Guess it goes both ways, you can never be too sure with people saying stuff in the EP World all the time just for the attention..

she has said that lisa has been sent copy's of the tapes, but lisa never got back to her so that puzzles me if that part is true or not.

Some people like to keep things at a personal level, as it is so precious to them, and don't see any point in doing so.

(Going into Face to Face-a "quickie" little bit not used in WR,E. It went along with the section used when he speaks about loving gospel and blues in the interview. It was after midnight Pacific time, he was alone, upstairs playing records and wanted someone to "share" with so he called me knowing I would be up as Jim worked swing shift. His upstairs rooms were soundproofed as his dad and new wife lived there earlier and had fussed about the "noise" all night etc; So Elvis had the best soundproofing installed-also why the den ceiling was carpeted-more soundproofing and doing that, gave Elvis quieter day time sleep too. I don't know where Linda might have been.)

Wanda: So-your favorite music was always gospel and blues-right?
Elvis: Yeah-gospels were-were the...eh, most important to me, how...eh...the feelin', ya know, the feelin' ya get singing them...bein' where it's goin' on an' all. Growin' up listenin' to the radio an' church singin's...tha...that was it for me then...'n blues is jus' the same kinda music with-eh, different kinda words put to it...still feelin's are there an' it's like jus' one and the same if you don' pick out the words, ya know. All music we have today came from there...from blues an' rythum 'n blues...gospels...
Wanda: Who would you say you like to listen to, any one in paticular?
Elvis: Naw...jus' lots of 'em...jus' was listen 'n to Solomon Burke earlier (sings a little bit of Got To Get You Off My Mind) 'member that one?

Yes, they sure are great friends.
I used to go there a long time ago. It was one of the nicer sites that didn't trash Elvis. When I'd get tired of the BS, I'd go spend some time with them.
It has a lot of mystical things there. Most of which, people make fun of.
I just read it and go on. Some I agree with, some not .
I really liked her sites about Hawaii too.
I hadn't heard Maia was ill !! I'm so sorry, I need to go see about her.

I was reading one of the conversations on her page I'm assumming it was close before he died and they were talking about the book. Elvis was saying something along the lines of He just wished things were the way they were in the ol days, and how nothing can change it now except for him dying !! :'(

I want the same things they do- it's just given to me in larger portions on account of what I do for a living. Not because I'm.... different!

E: Okay, I'm not... well; didn't mean to be... defensive. It's it..just I I get tired of explaining ME to people. Know I don't have to with you...it's its habit, maybe.

E: Anway, wish I had been able to do things...like better movies. I'd give anything just about... even if I wasn't the star... played anybody if it was somethin' good...but they never offered... (Col. T. made sure of that).

W: What's one you would have liked- that you really thought about?

E: Oh, lots of 'em. I guess one of the best was Dr. Zivago- I'd of loved playing Urichy - could of done that. I know it! But they wanted somebody who looked more foreign 'n they didn't think with my... Southern bred ness that I could pull it off. I 'd liked to have tried, but they wouldn't let me. An' then I wanted to do "Death Wish". I got the script first! An' they wanted to test...

W: You mean Charles Bronson's film? That one?

E: Yeah-it was good- could have done it and made it work. He did a good job- Hell, it made his career, ya know! I could of done it too.

W: Why didn't you get the role?

E: They said I was....too pretty! (Disgusted tone of voice) Hell! I put make up on, used a scar on my face, did my hair scraggy and wore a black, old turtle neck sweater an' changed my voice 'n looked good! Did the f----in' test- they liked it, then they decided it was too much- with my image an' all, the public wouldn't buy it.
So Bronson walked in-hell, didn't even test him- just got it. Right out from under me! That hurt bad; it was then I realized might as well forget the whole f---, excuse me- thing because they jus' wouldn't give me a chance...gawd...nobody...(He was offered a dramatic role but powers that "were" convinced him to change his mind... and too, he didn't want to do the nude and extended "love" scenes that were in the picture...A Star Is Born, I think it was called...didn't see it.)wjh

When I noticed, I just wondered why Vernon hadn't did that in the first place.

I've seen an interview she's done. Talked to her a few times.
I'm like her though-- I'd never release any tapes I'd done with Elvis.
I've never seen so many people publishing or selling things about him. :blink:

(Going into Face to Face-a "quickie" little bit not used in WR,E. It went along with the section used when he speaks about loving gospel and blues in the interview. It was after midnight Pacific time, he was alone, upstairs playing records and wanted someone to "share" with so he called me knowing I would be up as Jim worked swing shift. His upstairs rooms were soundproofed as his dad and new wife lived there earlier and had fussed about the "noise" all night etc; So Elvis had the best soundproofing installed-also why the den ceiling was carpeted-more soundproofing and doing that, gave Elvis quieter day time sleep too. I don't know where Linda might have been.)

Wanda: So-your favorite music was always gospel and blues-right?
Elvis: Yeah-gospels were-were the...eh, most important to me, how...eh...the feelin', ya know, the feelin' ya get singing them...bein' where it's goin' on an' all. I would differ with you on one point.That being Elvis having his pic taken.Elvis did in fact like a break from it.My friend who got the TLC from Elvis never managed a photo either.I asked her about this.Her response was that Elvis just got tired of all the cameras and liked to just relax.He looked at meeting fans as a different story.He tried to oblige them.When Elvis was just hanging out he didnt always appreciatte somebody pulling out a camera.I was told you had to catch him at the right time for him to allow a photo of him at home or in a private moment.

To be honest, if I knew Elvis like Wanda says she did, and I had the equipment, I would've taped a conversation as well.

Not to sell, but just to have. Or to play for my kids one day. And I certainly wouldn't have played it for anyone when he was alive.

Now that he's been dead (for over 30 years) - and if this tape really exists :lmfao: - then to release it publicly is perfectly fine. But not for money of course.

She seems to be a very warm likable person who does not like to make waves.

Obviously everyone can believe what they want but if you take the time to read her book you will see many of the few dates she gives are wrong. We have discussed that here before.
IF she had any connection with Elvis at all she should at least have tried harder to be more believable or get her stories right. Maybe she doesn´t care if people believe her or not but if I pay for a book I want at least to know if i´m buying a fiction or non fiction one.

I don't think she's deliberately setting out to deceive anyone. In her own deluded, fantastic world, she and Elvis had a relationship. She really believes it all.

For instance, the "voice analysis" of her Elvis tapes says the voice is Elvis. Possibly this was done by the same sort of people who said Gail Brewer Giorgio's tape was Elvis? And that tape was proven to be bunkum.

It's actually very sad. She needs help.

(As a side note, I find it interesting that, after all these years, she can still only manage 55 members on her candle-thingy website).

I've chatted with Wanda, she is available for everyone. It would have probably been a year ago.

I don't think that people have any right, to run down someone else's name, unless they know anything for sure.

I think that Wanda is one of the rare, caring, giving, sharing, joyful people around. I like her a lot.

I didn't buy one, but they're fairly cheap ,compared to others.

All I'm saying is; I took apart a few books from some others and stopped a few from coming out. Simply by going to their "experts". It's very easy to run some of this stuff down. If it bothers anyone; just prove it's not true.

Honestly, truely, Wanda aside. I don't remember dates, things are a bit fuzzy, sometimes the year something happened, too. Yes, even down to really important dates of meeting particular people, I can tell you roughly in the beginning of a certain year, etc. Wanda wasn't star struck, it wasn't that big a deal for her, when she got to know Elvis, it then was a big deal, as she loves him and respects him.

There are a lot of people, those who run others down who were in Elvis' life, who because of jealousy, don't like others to have any limelight, that they perceive they would like.

I have read the interview you did with her Joe (and others), thanks for posting it anyway. The problem is she has given different dates for the same events. Look again my post with her quotes from different websites and you´ll find them.
In your website she says she met Elvis first in person while he was working in Kissing Cousins, so we have her meeting him for the first time in 3 different dates: october 63 when Elvis was working in Kissing Cousins, in the spring of 63 according to the letter "Elvis" wrote to her (at least 6 months before that movie was filmed), and 64 the new date she has given to Cameron wich doesn´t coincide with the date in the letter, neither with the date of the shooting when Kissing Cousins took place. Oh and don´t forget she said she was at Elvis´ home later in their friendship after the filming of Fun in Acapulco (it´s in her book) wich happened around february in 63.
You can forget dates from things that happened to you time ago but if you sit and think there´s always something or somebody around you that helps you get the dates right. So I don´t buy that it´s been a long time excuse.
If you add that to the fact that no one around Elvis knows her as far as we know, to me there´s no doubt, she didn´t met him.

You have touched on the main reason why people want to believe her and dont scrutinize her credibility.Her stories are pleasant and easy on the ears.It's all made up fantasy but she gets a pass because of what she's saying.

I don't necessarily dislike Grob. I just don't think his story is feasable on where they were gonna bury Elvis. IMO, IF anyone had thought of that; it would have been set in motion before it was.

Grob also said HE was the one that brought the autopsy papers for Vernon to sign. Everything else says it was Dr Nick. Who do you believe?

The ETA's have never bothered me . There's much more that needs taken care of IMO ! There are so many ETA's that do good and keep Elvis' memory going. It just seems silly to worry about any of them. Especially the bad ones !!

Not saying l don't like them cameron, but the ones who are fat and act like elvis just makes me mad as heck some people can show elvis more class than that IMO. There are a couple that are good, but there will never be another elvis again, but l suppose there will always be people out trying to one. I noticed that there are some that try to be rod stewert and james dean:hmm::blink:

Those were 2 of the main questions that I wondered about as well. I wondered if Grob just wanted to sound really important by telling that HE was the one in charge of the autopsy papers.:hmm::hmm:

Whenever you get different people recanting events from so many years ago you will get differences.It's only human nature.My point is that nobody close to Elvis has ever come forward to say the description of events by the MM was fundamentally wrong.Billy Smith,Charlie Hodge,Linda Thompson,Sam Thompson,Vernon or a host of others.Gave you ever wondered why?I think Elvis inspired loyaly from those around him.I dont believe for one second that those people would let complete falsehoods be taken as truth.On the other hand you have Wanda Hill.She gets a letter the day before he died?Once again if you have any knowledge you know Elvis wasnt prone to writing letters.Particulary in 1977.Yet people take her word on events with no proof.It's just so absurd.For most on here I couldnt care less what they believe.I just hate to see some good people get duped by fakes.It's just not right.There is a reason Elvis fans are judged to be kooks by so many people.It's because so many act in a way that warrants that stereotype and that's to bad.
I agree, I have never thought most of them would lie on the big things-but I do think some levels of exaggeration, self grandisement, and misunderstanding have quite possibly taken place my friend. Also, as you say, just their points of view recanting things would produce differences.

They used to aggravate me too. {the really bad ones}
But, from what I've seen. They're not around too long.
It IS true, there are other entertainers that are "copied".
We just don't notice them as much. ;)

EPE used to get after the ETA's and everyone complained about that .
Now, they stage their own ETA contest and some complain about that !
They can't win for losing .

It was set in motion as soon as he passed. they did not leave him at Graceland because they needed time to get the permits. To leave him at Graceland would not work because ...... well i dont want to gross you out but it would not work.

No one talked of burying Elvis at Graceland when he died.

Obviously, in their grief, nobody in the family would have realised the original burial site was to become a haven for fans to congregate. It was packed every day and night, which was unfair for the family's of the other people that originally surrounded Elvis.

The family later applied to have Elvis moved; and Gladys.

It was then, by co-incidence only, that three drunken fools were charged with trying to steal Elvis' body.

Conspiracy theorists would have you believe that Vernon, or parties unknown, arranged for this to happen, to give them extra leverage to bring Elvis "home". Of course, that theory is rubbish.
