Great man (y)
Wish I would have seen Elvis live.... IT's tough knowing that a thing like that will never, ever going to happen.... Well, at least we have Graceland :D

I do love your items and pictures. Thanks for including them. However I must say that the ticket stub in your photo is a reprinted fake. Packages of those were sold in Memphis (can't remember the year) as souvenirs. The way you can tell is the diagonal black slash through the main body of the ticket. This slash was put on to show that these were not the actually tickets for the show but reprints. I saw Elvis six times in concert and as close to this date as the April 1977 tour Detroit and Ann Arbor the stubs are the same without the slash. Check out the pic. Best of Luck. "Always Elvis"
Wow. It must have been impressieve to se Elvis for real. (y) I only saw Elvis on wide screen in "Elvis the concert" here in holland twice, but still I treasure the memories of those concerts. :) I had the feeling as if he was there for real and I tell ya I was totally hypnotized so I can imagine what a thrill it must have been to see him live.
Be safe and take care,
Christel (TCE)

amazing...I got into an Elvis concert with a reproduced TICKET!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got into an Elvis concert with a reproduced ticket!!!!
I didn't know they were being reproduced in February,1977....
I've had this ticket stub for 27 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! !!!!
Look...the ticket stub is real...some of the tickets had the slash/some didn't..LOOK on the internet...
I've seen fake ones without the slash mark...are they real..
not one of the "after death" tickets that are on EBAY..
Just because you have a stub with no slash means that they all are are like yours...
This one has Monday,Feb 21st 1977 printed on it!!..Charlotte,NC...WHERE I LIVE NOW..
why in the hell would they reproduce a Charlotte ticket stub?

I didn't say you were not there, I am glad you were. After all there are too few of us who were lucky enough to see him. Just goes to show how old I am LOL  I just had to state what I know. The Ann Arbor ticket that I posted was bought the day before the show. On Friday 4-22-77 in Detroit they made an announcement from the stage that tickets were availible to this show but they were behind the stage. On that Saturday 4-23-77 I purchased 4 at the box office, barely 24 hours before the show, so the slash doesn't appear to be some sort of sold out clue. Futhermore when I was in Memphis (must have been early 80's) I recall seeing a package of tickets that was being sold in the stores with tickets as souvenirs. The package was for 20-25 tickets and they were for a variety of shows that had been performed and also the ones of the concerts that never were done after August 16, 1977. I was gonna buy some but the slash made me pass on em as I know all the tickets I ever had and ever saw did not have that slash. Six concerts from 1972 thru 1977. And of course at that time I felt they cost too much for something I didn't think was not real. They also had some on a plaque mounted under plastic the same deal.
Anyway.....this is what I know. I don't doubt you and welcome you to the club of those who saw him. Lucky Us. Hey you got a cup!!! All I got was memories of the best concerts ever! But I'm glad I did.

When I got tickets to see Elvis..it was announced on the Radio etc..
they said that you had to send a cashiers check in the mail to a certain address..and you would receive the tickets...My tickets didn't come from the box office..they were mailed to me..maybe that has somethin to do with it..

Yep that's true. All of my other tickets were done the same way as you. Mail order. BTW I believe I have no reason not too. Hey you have the concert folio also.......but you could buy those round Memphis back then too. Nuff said OK? Just a thought.

What are you saying??
You can buy concert folios on EBAY right now if you wanted to..you can also buy ticket stubs from Detroit too...just like the ones you have...
if you look closely at the photos I posted ..you can see the piece of paper that was attached to my tickets when they were in the envelope..it says:
due to the tremendous requests for Elvis TICKETS,your order has been processed for Feb 21 1977.....they didn't sell those in Memphis..
I've never even been to Memphis....
I was at the concert..I even TAPE RECORDED it...with my own handheld Panasonic tape recorder...it was strapped around my shoulder with a belt...hidden under my Levi's bluejean jacket..
You can hear me on the tape...asking for the binoculars, taking pictures, and me complaining that the people next to me were too loud...
it's on my AMPEX 90 min cassette...I still have it...
why don't you dispute this:
My recollections of standing at the entrance to the Lisa Marie 2/19/77
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Saturday February 19th at approx. 3:00pm(est)...Driving near the airport in Charlotte,NC..I spot what I believe is Elvis' plane..the Lisa Marie...I had never seen a good photo of it at the time...but I knew it had TCB on the tail...so I knew it had to be Elvis' plane
*I drove around to a fenced in area near the jet...managed to slip through an unmanned gate.
*I walked right up to the Lisa Marie..a couple of fans were there..we were discussing whether or not this was Elvis' jet
*within an hour or so...about 20 more fans show up...and confirm that it was Elvis' Jet..
*I walked under the wings...wrote my name and address in the dirt/grime under the wings.
*at approx. 6:00pm...Airport crew drives the stairs to the plane..
*at approx 6:30..a van arrives...and a group of people get out..Pilots and crew?...open the door to Lisa Marie..and go inside..
*at approx 6:45pm....I'm the first one to walk up the steps..and stick my head inside the cabin..I see a sink, and a pitcher of what looks like TANG.
*Approx. 7:50pm...about 7 police cars arrive to form a barricade in front of the jet..
*Approx 8:00 pm....Engines are running as a big chartered bus pulls up...and what appears to be band members start boarding the plane..
*Elvis surprisingly exits the SAME bus...walks up the stairs...turns around and waves..He is flanked by Esposito and Ed Parker..
*8:05pm...Lisa Marie pulls away...taxis down the runway...heading to Johnson City TN..
*I'll never forget it....

My cassete copy of Ann Arbor is mariginal with us talking and yelling and all at the show. The cuts on "Spring Tours" are far superior. I apprecaite the thought. Thx
