View Full Version : My avatar pictures are they Elvis?
Someone has suggested that the picture of Elvis walking up his drive in my Avatar is not Elvis. I fully believe it is Elvis and this is one of my favorite photos of him, so I am asking for opinions on this photo. I think they are trying to imply that this photo is of this guy Larry Blong who claimed (or claims) that he had his photo taken with Elvis or that he was Elvis's double.

That someone is wrong. Of course it's Elvis, and there are several pictures available that were taken at the same time.
As for the photo with someone who purports to be Larry Blong (ie the only known photo of Elvis with an impersonator), I have always said that photo is fake. The shadows on Elvis and Blong do not match up.

I also have my doubts about the Blong photo with Elvis.

Absolutely that is Elvis. In fact...I still have in a box somewhere this same picture in a "movie magazine"(that's what we called them) from the very early 70's. I don't know why anyone would have told you that.(n)

I wont mention the person-but I got a PM about a week ago from a new member and I was told one of the pictures was not Elvis-then asked if I knew who it was. I replied that IMO they were all Elvis. I just got a reply to my reply and it was claimed that the picture coming up the drive was a double.
I also have this picture from a "movie magazine" from years ago somewhere.:blush:
I told this person to start a thread and ask for opinions but decided to do it myself since they are new to TCB-World.
There was never a doubt in my mind that these are Elvis. Thanks

Well it was a very respectful PM. But this person seems pretty convinced that the pictures are not Elvis, which is why I started the thread to see if that may help answer the question.
In running a search on this man named Blong I was surprised to see that some weird rumors claim he did shows in Elvis's place while Elvis was alive and that he also did some of Elvis's recordings- not Elvis. That is about as wild as you can get with rumors.;)
Like Getlo I have doubts about that photo of Blong and Elvis. Blong is wearing a TCB in the photo and Elvis had just started to hand them out to his close friends-so how would Blong have had one? You could not buy the cheap replicas back then (like you can since Elvis died.) Also I agree the shadows and contrast seem different. But I hope this thread will help this person with the original question.

There used to be a video clip of this. I think it's been removed , at least I couldn't find it anymore .
From what I've been able to find out; this is Elvis. Even according to the "real" Larry Blong. And, he denies ever "sitting in "as Elvis at anytime.
That came from Goldman with the help of Lamar. :rolleyes:

Well, firstly let me introduce myself as being the new member who unfortunately got Larry Blong and Elvis mixed up. I didn't realise it would cause such an outburst of animosity, and for someone to say that you have to be careful of this new member? I am Doozy am I?
Yes, Doozy enough to think Elvis fans are nice people! I suppose there is the exception to every rule.
My initial enquiry was to find out who the other guy WAS, with a different idea in mind! I'm sure you can all see my first messages, no hostility there.
There are so many theories, pictures,etc., I got excited and latched onto the wrong picture!
Lastly,- Thank you all for welcoming a new member in such a way, especially the OLD member that called me DOOZEY.

That truely is a very intersesting thread I must have missed it. He seems to refute all the claims others have made about him thanks for posting the link.

Who the hell is that Larry Blong..i googled him but cant find anything about him..on that link a person claims it is Blong and not Elvis..but if that isnt Elvis,then for the 1st time i see someone who looks 100 % like Elvis..come on..that is Elvis right?
I'm talking about the pics under the first one..the 1st pic is not elvis..but the 70's pics under that pic is Elvis,it must be!

Respect works both ways. ;) Better to welcome "new members" instead of running them off IMO. They might very well contribute many things.
I've noticed there are some that are not very inviting or patient with new members. I've never understood that .:hmm: :doh:
Just because one's a "OLD member or a long standing member" is no excuse for rudeness. Consider if you were the new member .
