View Full Version : Who Is This Man?

In my 'part-time' investigations studying the myths, allogations and theories behind the death of Elvis Presley, I have discovered (or I should say 'uncovered') many things.
There is only one that really and truly baffels me........
Suspicious Minds

Didn't Elvis use the name Jon Burrows on some occasions?
Is there a more front view of this photo to see?
Would his FBI work made him fake his death?

Hello, David
You might find that others are interested in that subject, but as you've probably found out. It's not encouraged on most sites as it can cause arguements.
.
I must say, I too looked into the different "reasons, clues, etc". Not necessarilly to believe but, because I have a few friends that do.
Some of them were deeply hurt by the ones that pretended to "be Elvis" and I was certainly not happy with those kind.
As for that Jon Burrows; he has always denied being Elvis.
Yes, I've heard him sing too.
At least you live in the right state for the "fake Elvis" . I found most of them come from Texas . ;)

I have discovered that most fans strongly dislike the subject and shove you away as quickly as possible. I've heard great things about this forum, so I decided to join.
You're right about them coming from Texas... alot of them do! I do know about a Jon Burrows, but the man pictured below is not Burrows. He has a very different last name, but I am declined to share that.
This man in fact does not like Jon Burrows or any other fake that claims to know Elvis or be Elvis. He also is very serious about his privacy. For that reason, I cannot share much of what I know about him. I'm just looking for an opinion from honest fans...

I know what name he goes by. Jon Cotner . He also used Mystery Man.
I'm not going to say a word, as it's not my place. Have fun. There's lots of things here to share and talk about.
Believe me; I'm being nice. ;)

I don't "strongly dislike this subject"........however, Elvis is dead. This guy, to my eyes, does not even resemble Elvis in any period of his life. Elvis died in 1977. Fortunately for us, his music lives.(y)

Elvis is gone, he is buried in Graceland, I would bet my house on it. Cant we just keep his memory alive by listening to his music, watching his movies and rockumentaries? People who believe he is alive have to wake the hell up.

Well I know Elvis is dead no doubt about it. As I heard it said, cause Michael Jackson is still alive, ha, but I think this guy looks so much like him, I dont know why, everybody has a twin out there in the world Ive also heard. What if Jesse Garon didnt really die at birth. You know how poor the family was, how hard it would be to raise one child and now there were two.

Hello...David, is it? Welcome to TCB World! (y)
Overall, this place is GREAT! It is much like a family setting...where "siblings" argue a bit and disagree, but in the end it usually works out. And even when it doesn't, people still manage to be civil...well...most of the time anyway! ;);)
As for your interest in the "myths, allogations and theories behind the death of Elvis Presley"...I see nothing wrong with that! It may not be everyone's 'cup of tea'...and yes, some will call it rubbish and maybe you'll catch some heavy flack over it...but all in all, there are some things about it that interests me too. (y)
Don't get me wrong...I VERY MUCH BELIEVE ELVIS IS DEAD. :'( But, I find it interesting to see how people operate. It intrigues me to "pick the brains" of those who have these theories. And every great now and then, I have ran into something that has made me scratch my head and say "HUH?"....;)
So...if you are thick skinned enough to be able to handle the replies you may get...please feel free to share things with us. :) Best case scenario...someone may have info that can shed light on things for you. Worst case scenario...someone may offend you. Let's hope for the BEST! (y);)
And again...welcome aboard! Hope you enjoy being here! :king:

Yes, I told him that privately . IF he can stand the heat .I've certainly discussed it other places. IF it gets too bad, they'll just lock the thread as they have others. It sure doesn't bother me in the least. I just thought it was best if he was forewarned. He seems a very nice person. :P

When Gail and I were in Memphis last week we met this really cool woman from London. She is shown at 2:15 in our Playing in Memphis thread. She brought up that old expression..that everybody in the world may have a twin, but she said she doesn't believe that for one second. She said that there is "absolutely no one that will ever look like Elvis". I tend to agree with her.:P As my Mom has always said....little Jesse died at birth because the world wasn't ready for TWO men that looked like Elvis....:supriced::blink::lmfao::lmfao:

It's a bit funny to me how people choose to argue over things like this, that can actually be a bit humorous at times!:P Myself, I have found humor in some of this stuff. And at times, I have even found some points to be worth debating or at least worth a second glance. That doesn't mean that I am 'looking for Elvis' or that I think that he will emerge and reclaim his life...but I think that there are different angles to everything. And usually it all rides on how one perceives a certain thing. No more, no less. Five people could read the same passage and likely interpret it differently. Human nature I guess....or the differences therein! ;)

If there was any such reason that Elvis had faked his death in 1977, than I for one could believe that this man could very well be him today...
You must be kidding.
This guy looks nothing like Elvis, and nothing like Elvis could possibly look if he were alive today ...
If anything, he looks like an older Marty Lacker with a bit of Joe Esposito thrown in.
He not only looks like Elvis, but speaks like him as well. He does not claim to be Elvis, but he never denies or acknowledges the question.
Oh, give me a break! ;):lmfao:

Truthfully, in all seriousness--I don't believe any of us would recognize Elvis if he was alive today. But, that's just my opinion. ;)
I don't mind discussing the theories, etc. of some. I'd just never be convinced unless he'd bring some DNA.
Which "clue" do you want to look at first ?
BTW: He's not so "private." Anyone can find him on MySpace and YouTube.
He seems to be one of the "nicer" ones. But, he's always denied "being Elvis."
It just seems that some want him to be .
Also, IMO, if Elvis were around, he'd not "expose" himself in any of these places. IF he went so far to "get out" almost 31 years ago, why in the world would he even want to do something like that now ?
Since I started looking at this several years ago, I've seen these things occur a few months before Jan.8th and August 16th.

I just don't understand why people put so much time and personal feelings into that kind of lunacy. This has to be the same bunch that bought into the "Paul Is Dead" theory back in 1970. The cover of ABBEY ROAD had all these hidden "death" images on it.:supriced: The best part though was if you played an LP backwards you would hear the words Paul is dead... I think it's because there was such a rush to bury the man and there was a big "cover-up " in Memphis. {The city, BMH, the Newspaper and Vernon} This has been going on for almost 31 years.

Why would Elvis even try to fake his death, knowing that so many people loved him? Cut it out it is not him. To cover up a death if he tried takes a lot of people to shut their mouths and be quiet. Somebody would have spilled the beans if Elvis faked his death and Elvis would be brought up on federal charges. I mean look at the MM, if Elvis faked his death they would know and probably would have opened their mouths.

He didn't do anything wrong for any kind of charges to be filed against him. It's not illegal to fake your death. People do it all the time.;)
I always thought that was a silly answer "knowing that so many people loved him.?' Sorry, but IF someone really had to do something like that; IMO it wouldn't be done as a trival thing and it would be his family he'd think of first not people he didn't even know.
I DO agree that IF the MM knew they would have already told it.

I have a new theory for everyone to ponder.:hmm::hmm: Maybe Elvis really is alive, and Michael Jackson was so afraid that Elvis was going to come and kick his rear-end that he started bleaching his skin and having plastic surgery so that the real Elvis would not be able to recognize him and find him. Maybe Prissy was helping to hide MJ, so she too decided to alter her appearance.:wacko::wacko: :lmfao::lmfao::lmfao:
Nice theory; but MJ was already doing that before he married Lisa. :P
You'll see I've gotten very good at shooting theories down.
I'll help anyone look for an answer , as long as it's plausible.
It's the trying to make everything out to be a mystery that gets me upset.

Why would Elvis even try to fake his death, . . . To cover up a death if he tried takes a lot of people to shut their mouths and be quiet.. . .look at the MM, if Elvis faked his death they would know and probably would have opened their mouths.
The MM haven't been great keepers of the tic-a-lock keys! Some haven't been able to keep their mouths shut yet about what they "know" about Elvis! Elvis would have been very angry that some of these people couldn't even be bothered to do the research so that the simplest of facts are correct!
Elvis is dead. :'( Elvis was someone who absolutely hated being embarrassed or publicly humiliated. He would never have faked his death in his bathroom, face down, etc. etc., we all know the details [& imo, too much information there!] Maybe, if he had faked his death, he'd feel the freedom to do oddball & uncharacteristic things such as get - not one but 3 earpiercings on one ear - that I could see - and wear ripped up denim. And while Mystery man does have some similar features, Elvis voice in his later years became deeper and richer, even when he sang at home with his friends. This man has a nice voice, but it's not Elvis!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RclmXUMSqM
Singing Beyond the Reef with Red, even though Red is singing lead, Elvis' voice is easily made out and seems to be in the forefront. His voice is just that powerful and full of emotion!
And if he were alive, I'd be going up to Austin and dragging his butt out of the Coyote Ugly so I could collect the $3mil! Hey, I've got one kid in grad school, 1 in college and 1 just starting high school!:lmfao::lmfao:

Please give examples of some of the things the MM have written/said that are incorrect.
Not things that are distasteful, or should have been kept private.
I mean factually incorrect.

This was early on and helped to contribute to the "myths ."
I wouldn't think it was appropriate to joke about my dead friend.
Nor help in keeping his dignity in tact.
I could site other things, but it really doesn't matter IMO.

You're the first one to slam the "tabloid" media for getting it wrong, yet you assume that this piece of bilge (from one of the very worst of the tabloids) is real, in that Billy et all actually said this.
I feel very confident in saying - especially considering in 30 years this is the only reference to Billy's body-double claim - that it is complete BS, and did not in fact come from him, or anyone close to Elvis.

I agree with Rosanne in that the media wastes so much time and energy on such crap!!!!!! Its amazing that there are people out there who actually believe that Elvis didn't die and is living in Timbuctu!!!! But I guess its job security for some, entertainment for others. Elvis was the consummate entertainer. Who could have believed that he would still be entertaining from the grave as crazy people poor over evidence of whether the King is dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::ma d::bangin::bangin::bangin::wacko::wacko::wacko::wa cko::wacko:

Actually, you make me laugh . As in R of MM they tell the same story. ;)
No one said it was true; just that this is a small part of the BS they spread early on. :P
In my 'part-time' investigations studying the myths, allogations and theories behind the death of Elvis Presley, I have discovered (or I should say 'uncovered') many things.
There is only one that really and truly baffels me........
I just ran across this thread and I am baffled? Was there a picture or link here that is now gone?

Got it !!
After listening to the song he sings at You Tube I would have to say he sounds as much like Roy Orbison at times as he does Elvis. He has a good voice I will say that- but IMO Elvis is dead.
The nurse who cared for Elvis several times at BMH confronted on air the psychiatrist who was claiming at the time he was treating Elvis Presley on a local radio station. They had asked her to silently listen and then comment. She cried as she angrily told the man he could not be treating Elvis Presley, because she was there and saw Elvis dead. She was in the room as they worked on him. She had known him for years and it was the Elvis Presley. She said it was cruel to let people think he might not be deceased, because so many badly want to believe he is alive. The psychiatrist hung up.
I wish he were alive, as much as anyone here.

From what I've been able to find out ; I 'd have to agree with you.
IMO, it was all the mystery and "cover-up" from Franscisco {BMH} .newspapers and even Vernon that started all this.
I wondered if Vernon had lived, he would have been sorry for not ending this before it all started.
That psychiatrist lost his license too. To be fair; I think he got fooled himself. But, he lost a lot.
It was after the psychiatrist that I came into all of this. It was over by the time I tried to sort it all out. I met a woman that believed him totally.
Since then I've tried to bring it all into the open so no one else gets hurt.
While I don't condone it, I don't condemn anyone for believing either.
IMO, it needs to be brought out into the light so that no one has any shadows to hide in.
That's the only way to stop it, IMO .

I have to agree. Althoug I tend to believe Elvis is dead, I can neither
negate nor affirm that he faked his death, simply because I don't know it.
But if he did he will have had very good reasons and I think he would have
had professional people to organize his death and his 'second life'. Why
should it ever come to light? There are so many people living in witness protection
programmes, if it was so easy to locate them, nobody would do it.

I DO agree that IF the MM knew they would have already told it.
You know there's a 3 million dollar reward out don't you ?
Better than the 1 million Gerald offered, I guess .
Cameron- Elvis would have charges filed against him for fraud. Elvis' estate I presume cashed in a Life Insurance policy and if he faked his death that is fraud.

You're wrong. There was no life insurance policy cashed in.
Just some he had paid up and he cashed them in before he died.
It's not fraud to fake your death. ;)
Now his estate is another story.

The only time it would be fraud is if you fake your death for monetary reasons. There were not any life insurance policies cashed after his death. I've always heard he had one with Loyds of London that was never cashed.

There is no source for these body double claims by the MM save for this article, which has no attribution!

Only that they're quoted as saying it in R of MM. Look it up !
It's best to not believe everything you hear and read.
Let me add; I don't want to argue with you or anyone. I just got into this to clear up some untruths. Mostly, of how everything was covered up in Memphis 8/16/77 and to stop/expose the "fake Elvis;" out here . Do I believe Elvis traded places with another man? No, I don't.
But, Lacker and Billy tells the same story in Rev.of the MM. I just don't see any reason to "white-wash" their part in all this either . Believe what you like . It's what I tell everyone.

Your mother was absoulutely right. I really don't know what would happen to women now LOL... I would be crazy about both of them, that's for sure. Anyways there can be lot of differences between identical twins even if their appearance are the same. Maybe there would be two TCB-world sites now? Who knows... Seriously I often wonder what would have happened if his twin-brother had survived. I think Jasse maybe had the same or at least very similar characteristics, but he never could show it to the world. Maybe that was written for him and Elvis had to grow up alone. And now how many men would like to be like him? I'm sure everything would have been different if his brother stayed alive.
