Are you going to Graceland this summer??

With the summer vacation season right around the corner, who is going to Graceland this summer and when are you going?? I have never been and my daughter (age 8) wants to go, so when we leave the beach in July, she and I will drive to Memphis. I would like to know who is going and when and where to stay and what tickets are the best ones......:blink::blink:

I want to go this year, but when we go it always depends on when my mom gets time off from work. Well this year the plant she works at is shutting down at two different weeks and one of them starts right at the end of Elvis Week. So I'm gonna try to get her to get off a couple days off earlier so we can go to Elvis Week a little bit. Idk what the best tickets to get but I can do some investigating for you (y)

I'm going in July, we're only gonna be in Memphis for a few days, but it'll still be totally worth it, then we go on to Hawaii! I think i'll be in Memphis, on the 8th, 9th and 10th of July! Shame it's not Elvis week, but it's still Memphis.
Althought it's not the nicest (so i've heard anyway) we're staying in the Heartbreak Hotel, i mean it's the Elvis experience! lol

I can't wait to go, it's my first time!!

Hope you get to go, i'm sure its more amazing than can ever be written down!

I'm going sometime this year, but haven't nailed down a date as yet. Definitely NOT during Elvis Week though. I'd rather it was less crowded so I can really take my time in the house and exhibits.

I haven't been there since 1980, when the house was still closed and all you could do was visit Meditation Garden.

Not with the cost of gas expected to hit $4.00 dollars a gallon (perhaps higher) this summer. I'm staying closer to home.

I think their prices are a little too much for admission, especially w/ a family of 4. I guess it's all about profit, profit. Gas at $4 will not help one bit too!

I fully intend to this summer. I wanted to go last year for the 30th anniversary but couldn't because of my grandmother's death around the same time. I'll probably go in July or early August. I want it to be close to Elvis week but not right on Elvis week. Too crowded that week. It's nice to be there when it's building up to Elvis week.

Everyone here is worried about gas too. It kinda sucks too because we just don't go down there to go to Graceland but to visit family.

Im going this July.

I stayed at the Madison last August and the Hilton the August before.

The Hilton I found was too out of the way for what I wanted to do while in Memphis, the Madison was alright....but the quality of the rooms and the service did not justify the price.

So I am in the Holiday Inn Downtown this year.

Anyone know what its like? I have read the reviews etc... but if anyone has stayed in it can they let me know.

Im going for 6 nights in July.
