It's no secrete that Elvis was searching . I tend to believe that he was a spiritual person rather than a religious one.
Of course, I disagree with Stanley that Elvis' "lack of education" kept him from doing anything. IMO, Elvis knew a lot more than any of them .;)
That includes "knowing the Bible." At that time not one of them was interested in talking about the Bible....except Elvis.

From everything I've read, you are 100% correct on this post cameron! (y) Matter of fact, I think they found it hard to tolerate his 'bible readings'...and the fact that there were times when he would constantly talk about God, and the 'meant to be' aspect of it all.

I wouldn't even begin to think that any of them were any better versed at biblical scripture than Elvis was. He was passionate about it, IMO. ;)

Yeah, and isn't it funny how the Stanley boys (of all people) turned out to be God fearing men!!! They should be fearful!!

You are right Gail...they are all born again Christians, and I think one or two of them are even preaching now. :hmm: Maybe Elvis rubbed off on them after all...(y):king:

I think it takes a brave man to search and be sceptic about such matters. And I also like that fact that he had a genuine love of God, not out of fear.
He was lovely

seems to me to be very interesting,i belive that to ELVIS she liked to speak about the bible and all that bur her friends, they were passing very much of and of the topic and he does not seem to me to be correct,he was not mad, alone was seeking to give him sense his life.

I've just found the article (I mean the whole newspaper what contains this article) on net (in pdf file), it is can be downloaded on this site: http://ifphc.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=heritage.backissues I hope I won't do anything against copyright if I post it here and share with other fans, (I will remove my post if I did) but I had to convert them to jpg files, so it is not easy to read it.
