I saw Elvis for the very first time at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It was truly "SUCH A NIGHT"!!!! I've still got my ticket stub - ticket price $1.50 - I kid you not! I'll post it in the morning.

Just realized I had this already scanned. Look at the top of the page - there's the ticket stub.

You're such a lucky person to have gotten to see him in person, especially during this period of his career! :D

Well, actually, being only 10 at the time I don't remember a lot. We had the cheap seats (up over the cows) and I remember it stinking in that section. Because we were over the cows we were not down low by the railing and I was upset when he drove around in the jeep and I couldn't jump in the jeep with him! I do remember crying when he came out because I was just so excited to see him!! And, screaming, I do remember a whole lotta screaming going on!! He then came to Hofeinz Pavillion November 12, 1971and my mom took me and my 2 sisters. And, then, my mom saw TTWII and she was hooked!!! Thank goodness for TTWII or I would have never seen Vegas!!

I would have gone down and sat with the cows just to be there!.......I love hearing peoples memories of seeing Elvis...I was only six years old at the time he died so I would never get to see him in person....It must have been an incredible feeling.

I remember reading about these shows in Photoplay Magazine and it was so exciting to realize Elvis had played there and broke attendance records. I was hoping he would start to tour again just from reading the article. Had to be exciting to be there.(y)

(y)(y) OMG.....I remember seeing TTWII in November of 1970 and coming out of the theater with an agenda to get to Vegas! I asked my Mom...do you think Daddy would take us to Las Vegas to see Elvis? She said....well..it won't hurt to ask him. So..later that night I did, and he said YES!!! The rest, as they say......was history! We flew home from Vegas on August 18, 1971...could not fathom that in 6 short years he would be buried on that date.:'(

Exactly the same-saw it November of 1970 at the Grand Theater. My aunt and uncle, myself and 3 friends who were in my band. We sat through it twice. It was so mesmerising. Had seen his movies and clips from Ed Sullivan but TTWII just blew me away.
