I just saw this on a site called Elvis Lives...I don't believe it, but thought I would post it to see what you all think...

THE TOP TEN LIST
EVIDENCE THAT ELVIS PRESLEY HOAXED HIS OWN DEATH
1. ELVIS IS IN THE WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM
Most people know about Elvis’ famous meeting with President Nixon. What they don’t know is that during this meeting Nixon issued Elvis Presley a DEA badge, a clue that Elvis was helping investigators with amajor case and later had to enter the federal witness protection program. It's ludicrous to believe that the DEA would have issued a badge to someone not working for them, even Elvis Presley.

2. ELVIS' NAME IS MISSPELLED ON HIS TOMB.
Elvis’ father, Vernon, misspelled Elvis’ middle name on the grave—Aaron instead of Aron, as his mother named him. This is a sign that Vernon Presley knew that it was not his son in the tomb.

3. PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE CORPSE DON’T RESEMBLE ELVIS
In 1977, the National Enquirer paid a third cousin of Elvis to smuggle a mini-camera in to the viewing of Elvis’ body. The resulting picture was published in the Enquirer, and caused shock waves among fans around the world. The eyebrows, chin, and fingers all looked unlike Elvis.

4. THE COFFIN WAS TOO HEAVY
The coffin weighed 900 pounds: Elvis is known to have been overweight at the time of his death...but not that much. The only plausible account for that weight would be if the body was a wax dummy and there was an air conditioner inside the coffin to keep the wax dummy from melting.

5. COL. PARKER’S STRANGE QUOTE
Col. Tom Parker, Elvis’ manager, said in a press conference shortly after Elvis’ death: ‘Elvis didn’t die.The body did. We’re keeping up the good spirits. We’re keeping Elvis alive. I talked to him this morning and he told me to 'carry on.’ Is it possible that there was a double entendre to those words: that they had literal truth to them that no one suspected at the time?

6. INCONSISTENCIES IN THE STORY
The circumstances of death are described in conflicting ways. Witnesses disagree as to how the body was found and what Elvis was wearing, when the body was found, whether it was dead already, when death was declared, and whether AR was tried.

7. THE BOOK DID NOT EXIST THEN
The book about the Shroud of Turin he is supposed to have been reading when he died was not published until a year later.

8. EVIDENCE THAT ELVIS WAS PLANNING ON THE END
There seems to be evidence that Elvis was preparing for the end:
—Why, for instance, did he order no new costumes for a new tour due to start on August 16th, 1977?
—Why did he fire several old friends shortly before his death?
—During his last tour he sang ‘Blue Christmas’ although it was summer: was he warning his fans?
—Five months before hand, family members were suddenly cut out of his will. Did he realize he would need that money for his new life?

9. MYSTERIOUS FIGURE LEAVING MEMPHIS THE DAY AFTER
On August 17th, 1977, one day after Elvis’ death, a ticket to Buenos Aires was bought at Memphis airport by a man looking like Elvis and using the name John Burrows, a code name Elvis frequently used when making hotel reservations for the Elvis entourage.

10. NEW ELVIS RECORDING EMERGES WITH SONGS FROM THE 90’S
In 2002, an independent label released a CD entitled Kingtinued featuring Elvis’ voice singing at least fourteen well known songs which were not written and did not exist prior to August 16th, 1977.

Yep, that started in the early '80's. Though it seems sometimes EPE uses all that hoopla. Was it 2 years ago they had a sign up that said :Elvis Lives"?
Something else like that in ;Elvis by the Presleys. It doesn't seem to bother them..

Interesting thoughts but...complete and utter B.S.

Although...I will agree wholeheartedly with Col. Parker's quote "Elvis didn't die. Just his body is gone".

Think about it...the legend and image of Elvis is bigger now than it was 30 years ago. So...even then...Parker was thinking ahead....

other than the quote from The Colonel and Elvis singing Blue Christmas in Spring tour of 1977, I think everything else can be explained. Here are a few that come to mind.

There was a new Jumpsuit in the makings. I think the lack there of for 1977 spring tour was due to Elvis reaching an all time low in personal finances. That's why they filmed that CBS Special.

Here are some pictures of what it would've looked like if he had worn it.

That "new recording" like AHM1977 said, was Doug Church. You could tell it's not Elvis but he did do a good job at it. I think only, Jimmy Ellis AKA ORION came close to sounding like him.

The misspelling of the name, Marty Lacker said in the late 60s Elvis wanted it changed to Aaron cause it was more biblical. I also think that the doctor who wrote the birth certificate misspelled it.

Do you remember all the hoopla in 1970 over The Beatles and Abbey Road? As each Beatle was crossing the street it represented something having to do with Paul's death. In some ways the "Elvis Lives" theory was old hat...we had already gone through all that mess with Paul McCartney. I bet by the time he gets finished with this divorce settlement he may wish he had dies in 1970. ;);)

I used to believe this Franny for a long time but Elvis would never stay away from his fans this long it would drive him nuts not singing for us his fans cause no one has ever loved his fans like Elvis did.
Take care

Fans aside....can anyone really see Elvis doing that to his father AND to his daughter?:hmm::doh::blink::blush:

Noooo, they would have to be in on it but I can't see how it could be kept hidden for over 30 years. Someone somewhere would have leaked it out.

Right, Rosanne! (y) This is one of the reasons why, I never believed all those rumours, because Elvis would never put his father and daughter through that!

So true. Its ridiculous to think Elvis would have stepped away from the family, fame, and fans -to go into hiding. And even more crazy to think it could be kept a secret.

The King's Queen

TRUE! His family would def have to be in on it with him before he would ever do that. E just loved his kinfolk too much to put them thru that. And besides, can't see him EVER going that long without seeing Lisa...just wouldn't happen. However....

I once read that Lisa knew about it, as did Vernon, and that it was for THEIR protection that he went into 'hiding'. Supposedly, he was living in Hawaii...:P. And also, they said that Lisa visited him quite often there. Either who...:lmfao:

But yeah...it would be great if he were among the living, but sadly for us, he's not. :'(

I'm sorry but the "Elvis Alive Debate" is not one we accept on TCB-World, we have been down this road many times and it always ends the same way with people falling out, name calling etc, etc so this thread is closed!

Please do not open another one.... Thank You.
