Oh, sad, that no one knows what happened to it. :( It brings back such wonderful memories for us fans that were there. That is a wonderful picture of the sign.

I think they should open a museum for all the boarders like this one, they are a part of elvis history.

Because of refurbishments, signs like this are replaced regularly.

There is a neon graveyard outside Vegas, where all the old signs go to die.

http://www.neonmuseum.org/boneyard.html

Maybe it's there.

According to Wikipedia, on July 18, 1994, a severe windstorm knocked the original sign down. It was then replaced with the present sign...here's the link; scroll down to "history":

From reading that article, it seems to appear that Elvis's penthouse suite no longer exists....

His suite has been broken up and turned into several suites. It's such a shame that original sign is no longer there..I don't care for the one they have up now. Believe me....riding from the airport and coming down Paradise Road and seeing that sign for the 1st time is something I will never forget. It's as though you could feel the excitement.(y)

Those are the pics of how it looked back in Elvis' days. Several years ago it was broken into several smaller suites.

I remember......I love seeing the sign again (y)(y)(y)awesome memories. I might have a postcard of the sign from back then if I would ever dig into my old stuff in the dusty ol' attic. I remember looking around the net last year to see if I could find old pictures of the sign and International/Hilton back then .........and saw pictures of how it is now:blink::blink::blink: Sure didn't thrill like it did back when. :D
Especially with the skinny guy painted on the side of the Hilton.

:hmm: Imagine seeing this at the new hotel planned in Las Vegas? If not the original, then maybe a replica? Or, maybe as the new intriguing entrance to the new 80,000 square foot Visitor's center being planned to be built next to Graceland?(y) It' s reportedly going to have a Las vegas meets Disney feel to it so why not?(y)(y)(y)
