Why should she not sell them? Maybe Ginger wants to move on with her life....

Seriously, though. If I was married to someone else (I'm single, by the way) and still had mementos from a former relationship, I'd feel pretty uncomfortable about having the items around--and I'm sure the spouse wouldn't like it, either.....

I have seen other things that Elvis supposedly gave to Ginger that have been sold. This says it is the first time she has sold anything from her private collection. After 30 years, why would she sell now? I am surprised to see that she picked up a partially smoked cigar and kept it. She may have a lot more in her private collection.

I remember several items from the past that she has sold...I wondered why it said that? The cigar just about did it for me.....why on earth would you take that, unless you were thinking way ahead. :hmm:

You might be uncomfortable at the very beginning of a relationship, but not after the man has been dead for 30 years and you yourself have been married a long time and have children. When we were newlyweds my hubs wasn't wild about anything I had from ex-boyfriend, but now, 30 years later it doesn't bother him one bit. Jealousy usually subsides with maturity and age......that's why I don't buy for a second that his things make her husband uncomfortable. ;);)

Surely she's not that hard up for money, doesn't she know how blessed she was to have known such a person, he obviously gave her those things because he wanted to, she doesn't respect his memory at all, maybe the only one that really loved him was Linda, I guess time will tell.

Those were my thoughts as well. I can't imagine someone as special as Elvis was suppose to be to her life that she would part with these things. Perhaps pass them on to future generations of her family when she passes to remember her life by....but sell them???
No, I don't buy the jealous husband thing. Elvis DIED... he isn't here. What is there for a husband to be jealous of? and certainly not more than thirty years after the fact.... like has been said.
There is only one reason to sell something as special as those things are and that is if you are starving. I doubt Ginger is starving.

To me it looks more like this woman was taking stuff out of Graceland. I can't see how she ended with Elvis' ram necklace, notes, and half smoked cigar without knowing she was out to make a buck.

I can't remember if a finger was pointed at anyone in particular...but that was the reason I read that Delta locked the upstairs .She believed people were stealing things...but, who knows ?
If he really care about Elvis, he wouldn't part with these things. I've been married 8 years and I've kept some special things my ex-boyfriend gave me, not because I'm still in-love with him, but because it was a part of my life!
And, I agree, why would you keep a half-smoked cigar???!!!! That is so ....! I must say, she got foresight!!! And why does she have some of Elvis' jewelry???
I think many of you are being to hard on her.Youre looking at the situation through the eyes of a fan.We make so much out of his material items because we never knew him or got close to him.People that were close to Elvis dont look at things quite the same way.I've asked a few people that have sold items if they regretted it.They just say after having something for so many years the time comes when you can part with the stuff. Why shouldnt she sell her stuff? It's hers to do with as she see's fit.The person who buy's it will certainly be gratefull. How else could a fan that would truly appreciatte owning something of Elvis"s get it?After more than 30 years Im sure she has moved on.If some of you were truly close to Elvis as she was youre perspective might be a little different.I got a feeling that reality doesnt always match the fantasy.

If she can't bare looking at this stuff, why don't she put them in a box and hide them in the closet? In my opinion, selling them is a big mistake. Too bad I don't have the money to buy them...

Also how did she get a hold of some of Elvis' clothing? That seems an odd thing for Elvis to give her? I can understand clothing she wore herself or jewelry but HIS clothing?????

Finally! Someone says what I was thinking - paintings, etc. is very odd thing for her to have. It does indeed sound like she took stuff out of Graceland. how about the pj top? was it the one he wore that dreadful day? Sounds to me like she was hoarding stuff to sell in the future. Sorry, but that's the way it sounds to me.

I agree, Kelly. Something doesn't sound quite right 'bout some of these items....
(I seriously doubt that Ginger would be so classless as to have kept the PJ top that Elvis was wearing when he died)

Jeff, it's not that she is selling stuff - it's what she is selling..... a painting of Lisa Marie Airplane- a pj top - a half smoked cigar - this type stuff sounds almost cold hearted to me. (atleast this is my opinion) Where on earth did she get the stuff? Sounds like she stole it.....
How are you? I haven't talked to you in a while....:D
Actually it's not odd at all that Ginger has these items. He continously gave away items such as these.Even the maids at Graceland ended up with many of his personal items that included clothes and even the dishes from the cupboards.Ginger was absolutely in Elvis' favor when it came to gifts.Something like the cigar may have been taken as just a personal memento.Who's to say?

I don't see anything wrong with Ginger selling "her" stuff, she's doing what she wants! Maybe, she keeping the things that are more "sentimental" to her and just felt it was time to part with the items she's selling...Who knows, maybe her family told her it was time...

Yes the cigar gives off a bad impression that she was there collecting everything she could to make a bit of cash down the track. That's really sad.
Still, I'd love to buy some of it

I just got the time to go look it this.
:hmm: Maybe she was packing that afternoon before checking to look for Elvis.
According to Nancy Rooks; she and Elvis were heard fighting that morning ....not making wedding plans.
It didn't take Vernon long to see her to the door. I just always wondered why she wasn't questioned more. ??

In some book {?} it was said Elvis called to get her "something" for her cramps. It was what he sent one of the Stanleys for .
{I can't recall ; but that was mentioned in a couple of them}
Wasn't that one thing Tish Hensley and her husband had to testify in court about?
