 Gail and I were laughing about something the other night. Back in the 70's as you all know now Elvis would be in Baptist Memorial Hospital quite a bit. The newspapers would say that he was recovering from exhaustion, or something along those lines. Gail and I both would send him get-well cards........and we both still have the thank-you notes that Elvis would send us!!(y) The card would read thank you for remembering me during my illness, and then it would be signed Elvis Presley. I still have mine in a scrapbook that has the plastic covering, so all of that stuff still looks to be in great shape!:supriced:(y)

Hey...what's with "were"? We STILL are!(y) We would call each other right after school and practically scream into the phone "I got a thank-you note from Elvis". I can remember my mom picking me up from school and whenever I had a letter from Elvis she would have it with her! I couldn't possibly worry about homework.....I had to call everyone and tell them I had another card from Elvis!! It was the same way with the Christmas cards!!(y)(y)
My parents used to say that if I had put one-tenth of the time into my school work that I put into my "Elvis-work" that I would have been Valedictorian. They were probably right...I majored in Elvis101!:notworthy

Yeah, just ask our husbands!!! Seems we turned out the same and both got lucky in choosing our very understanding husbands about our first love!!!

Yes....there they are! (y) That is one of the few smart things that I did.....all of my scrapbooks are in the ones that used the plastic coverings, so mine look brand new! :D

Those are some GREAT pictures, Gail. (y)(y)(y)
I did the scrapbook thing....cut up the teen mags....saved the news articles....postcard at Christmas with Elvis and the Colonel...etc. ...but lost my scrapbooks along life's way. I moved like 30 times in 60 years...bound to happen I guess. :'(
How'd you get the red carpet? You didn't sneak into Graceland and cut a hole in Elvis living room did you?....Wouldn't put it past you now I've grown to know you (and Rosanne) . :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:

Well, thank you - that's very sweet! I have to tell you guys I never knew how much I loved that girl or had much I missed her until about a month ago. And, the strange thing is it seems like our lives have been so much alike for the past 30 years! We both have 2 kids who have turned out great, both have very easy going husbands who are happy if we're happy (:D). Would you believe her dad and my grandfather (who adopted me) both died on the same day (1 year apart)? We both had houses built on a couple of acres outside of the big cities of Dallas and Houston. I guess she's just my "soul buddy"!!! :D:D
I'm looking so forward to our first meeting again - and we're gonna do that in Memphis - no better place, hey???

I agree with everything you just said.(y) You can not imagine how many times I have thought about Gail through the years but I didn't have a clue how to go about locating her. You can only imagine in the Houston area phone book how many pages there are listed with the last name of "Davis". We have done so much talking in the past month that I had to get a new battery for my cordless phone! I can't wait for our reunion in Memphis....hopefully we will have some fun pics to post!(y)
We also realized that our Mom's have the same birthday. And, believe it or not, we both have trouble with the C6 and C7 discs in our neck!! Our hubbies have rhyming names...she has Tim and I have Jim. UNCANNY!!!!

I'll share a story that shows how much we thought along the same lines. The Las Vegas Hilton had a HUGE swimming pool as you can imagine. I would look out the windows at the pool and there would be a jillion people out there swimming. I thought those people had to be crazy.....they were certainly going to miss seeing Elvis if he decided to come down to the lobby and have coffee and visit with me.:lmfao::lmfao: Sometimes I would go out to the parking lot and look and look and look up to the penthouse floor. I just felt that Elvis was surely up there looking back at me!!:supriced::supriced::lol:
As it turns out.....Gail said she did the EXACT same thing!(y)(y)

Out of all the times I went to Vegas - I never packed a swimsuit!! As it turns out, nor did Rosanne! Now, how weird is that - teenage girls not going swimming?? Guess we never thought he might look out the window and see us and "send for us"!!!!:D:D

Shoot, I did that, too, and I don't even have the excuse of being a teen at the time like you two. Never brought a swimsuit either. Swimming was NOT the goal when heading to Vegas. :lmfao:
p.s. I can't tell you how happy I was when Sean Shaver told me that it was not helping me get close to the stage by getting in that LONG line HOURS before the show started.:lol::lol: Boy did I feel STUPID.
