Well if I had to make an educated guess, I would say it's probably an early 70's shirt?? :hmm:
I would LOVE to see a photo of Elvis wearing this shirt though....I've never seen it before!!
Thanks for posting it elvislady!! (y)

Here is alittle information l got from the elvis owned items website, don't know how true this is though??
Elvis Custom made shirt.
Great long sleeve, high collar red and white bamboo shirt was worn by Elvis possibly during filming at MGM studios in Culver city. This shirt was crafted for Elvis Presley by Mr. Livie of CRC in Brubank Calforinia. It was purchased by the foremost Elvis collector Chris Davidson from CRC along with the Nudie's "White Millionaire Suit" from the film, "Clambake". Comes with COA's from Chris Davidson and from Mr. Livie's granddaughter. Price $3900

That would explain why we don't remember this shirt if it was one he wore in one of his movies. Thanks Jen. Still waiting to see if Lisarose can find a picture of it though.

See...there is the key word....POSSIBLY!!!
Without pictures of Elvis wearing the shirt, for all we know, it could have just hung in his closet and never worn. And then, is it worth $3,900?? :hmm:

Exactly Mike. Without a photo we can never be certain he wore the shirt.
Hope one comes up would be nice to see!(y)

Right Brad...but it's still tough!! Just because a photo of him wearing this shirt is found, all it proves is that he wore the shirt. Then, it's still a matter of verifying the information that comes with the shirt to authenticate it as actually being THE shirt he owned/wore, and not just a knock-off version! :hmm:

One thing's for sure.... a similar shirt belonged to the Elvis Presley collection. It was made by IC Costumes and I have a picture somewhere of this shirt on display at Graceland. But I do not believe it was worn during the Culver City sessions in 1970. It was'n until early August 1970 that Elvis started to wear shirts with Napoleonic collars. And the first ones had very floppy collars too.
Another point I would like to make is about that page that is displaying that picture of the shirt. Please take a look at the picture of Elvis' Golden Throne. They claim this chair was used during the photo shoot in December 1970 but there are a lot of differences between the chair Priscilla is sitting on and the picture of the chair they claim to be the real one.

Sorry, I had problems logging in yesterday!
Okay, Looked through my books, lots of red with white Hawaiian shirts, but none like this! Maybe like Mike says, just hanging in his closet!
But then, I'm a child of the 70's, lots of the surfer guys at my school wore shirts like this!
I could not find a single photo of Elvis with this shirt!

Well that proves that he had a shirt SIMILIAR to the one being sold...now the $100,000 question is....DID Elvis actually WEAR the shirt?? :hmm:
