Once he started dying it black, did he ever go back to brown? Was there a time in the 70's when his hair sort of looked brown? Thanks

I think the only time he quit dying it was when he was in the army.

Wasn't it a bit more brown when he filmed Follow That Dream? Don't know
if he went back to his natural haircolor or just not as black.
I would have loved to have seen him with silver hair, like Vernon's, some men look
great with silver hair.
Mine is salt & pepper (more salt) and believe me, Revlon is my best friend, I just
look old & tired! :)

In Follow that Dream and Kid Galahad, his hair was brown. Sometimes I think his hair looks dark brown in, Flaming Star but that could be they way they adjusted their cameras tint.
I know that they tell actors sometimes to lighting their hair for a part too look more humble, down to earth like the common folk. Jet Black hair is very exotic on the big screen.
I thought I saw pics of Elvis in 69 with brownish hair. Not styled or anything, he's just signing autographs. That might have been an old camera that didn't capture all the colors fault.
I seem to recall an interview- perhaps with Ronnie Tutt or one of the TCB band who said they once saw Elvis at Graceland and his hair was pure snow white-he had been off for a few months and had not had it dyed. Where ever I saw this, they said he looked great with it and told him so. He said I might just keep it this way-but the next tour it was dyed even blacker than before.
Does anyone else recall reading or hearing this-I can not remember where I read this but am sure I have.

I find that his hair looks more brown around the Aloha Concerts.
What Elvis would look like with white hair....;)

Around Aloha he used a natural black color instead of his usual blue black. So yes,it had a brownish tone to it.I recall hearing that story about Ronnie or somebody seeing him at Graceland with salt & pepper hair. But i heard it was after wrapping up one of his movies and he was on break.

Yes, I read Ronnie Tutt's interview, perhaps at Elvis Australia? where he stated that Elvis had gorgeous [my word, not his] silver hair. Also, remember reading Larry Geller's account where he was preparing Elvis' body for viewing and noticed that he had white growth, Gellar had to borrow someone's mascarra to cover the roots so Elvis would look as he usualy did.
