I know alot of yall criticize the business side of Elvis today, but I saw where Beyonce only made $27M this past year while Elvis made $49M. And that don't even count for his record sales. That's just EPE's earnings off of ticket sales and merchandise.

He's makin more than most of the livin top celebs out there!:supriced:

I know they don't count dead celebs earnings with the livin, but if they did, Elvis would rank in the top 25 or higher.

I don't know how much he made when he was livin, but I'm sure it wasn't near what he's makin' in death.

It's just amazin how huge and popular he still is and still will get.

They're sayin that he could be soon makin over $100M a year with the new show in Vegas and the plans for the new Elvis Experience at Graceland.

It's impressive to see him making all of that money off of merchandise, and ticket sales while artists like Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Rihana, and all the others who are pop icons today make their money off of everything from touring and personal appearances to record sales and endorsements. EP doesn't have multi million dollar endorsements to make money off of. He has to depend on EPE to market him and sell his name and their brand of items to keep him popular and in some ways still relevant. That just goes to show just how phenomenal and what an impact EP still has on pop culture for someone who has been gone for 30 years now. $49 million isn't jump change. And you are correct about his living income. He never made that type of money while on earth. I think the most he ever made in a single year was in 1974 at around $13 million, which would come out to about $30 million today. But that was mainly off of constant touring and record sales which weren't that great to begin with.

The plans for Las Vegas will definitely insure EP a much larger financial revenue income. The Cirque Du Soleil show alone is expected to bring in $50-100 million a year. The newly planned hotel and casino and EP museum will generate around $40-50 million or more per year.

This is why Bob Sillerman is the best thing to happen to EP and his legacy in a very long time. And because of FXS, I predict that by 2012 (the next major anniversary year) EP will be making over $200 million a year and the biggest private entertainment enterprise in the world and the estate will be valued at over $500 million.(y)

To be fair, Oprah has stated on numerous occasions that she and EP are distant cousins. Oprah says she has Presleys in her family and they are from Tupelo as her mom was born in Tupelo on the exact same day as EP was, January 8, 1935. Truly a weird coincidence.

Also there was something about this on TV Land in August during Elvis Week that there is some truth to the relation.
