Here's a new remix of Elvis' Sun classic 'That's All Right'. What do you all think? I like it.

Yeah, it's pretty good. Although I'm not fond of remixes, this one is "All Right"!

It was okay for what was given. I would have like to have heard a few seconds more!

No I didn't like this one and I didn't like Lucy Clark's voice with Elvis whoever she is. Give me the Sweet Inspirations with him every time!

You know that 30 second sample doesn't sound all that bad. When you think of a remix of such a classic recording like That's All Right you don't think it would come off that good. Especially a mono recording from Sun. The mix is great!! However I think this would sound much better without the duet and just let the King do his magic. That being said, I still give it a (y)

Based on that 30 second sample that was treacherous ...

Dear Lord, if this is what they'll be up to in the future, what's next ?!

Please stop turning The King's classic recordings into throwaway dancefloor tripe !!!

I really hope that remix NEVER sees the light of a release day ...

If it gets some young kid to investigate Elvis-all for it.
But if they are not getting young people to check him out-then it is useless to keep doing them.
ALLC did get some young kids to check him out closer which I thougth was good.

Interesting, to say the least. I don't know who this other singer is and that it isn't someone who is very widely known (or do I live in a shell?) isn't a great thing.

I liked the beat anyway and like EP75 am impressed with the sound. That they were able to isolate Elvis' vocal so well and not have to bury it in the mix is pretty cool.

However, in my opinion songs like this and Baby Let's Play House are just not good candidates for this type of remix. ALLC was the perfect selection and Rubberneckin', not so bad either. I like that they sound more modern -- somewhat timeless, more accurately (speaking of the originals) -- and Elvis' more mature voice just has so much more universal appeal as I see it.

If it does get more people talking about Elvis, then cool, I guess. Especially since they know it's not his fault how bad any of these remixes turn out.

Yes l agree. my friends kids aren't fans of elvis so l thought l would like try a remix on them and they loved it more so than the straight version by elvis, so if the remixes work for the younger groups of kids than l'am all for it.

Elvis and the Sweet Inspirations were perfect together. Great harmony, and simply the best. And the Imperials weren't bad either. Give me Elvis and those singers and the Stamps anyday..no one can touch them. But Lucy Clark ,who the heck is she? They can remix any Elvis song they like, but don't add another singer with him. Not even Lisa has the vocal ability, and she's his daughter.

Agreed- they were perfect for an almost Rap type sound-since they are close to being spoken not sung-plus the drum rhythms are like the rap rhythm IMO. ALLC was superb for a remix. Rubberneckin I was not as excited about. But those examples of what will work are going to be few and far between I think.

There might be more like this on the way according to some new poster at the Elvis CD Collectors message board. I don't know how reliable this is but it looks legitmate. The poster's name is called 'Real'.

I really don't like this remix, but for another reason than my disliking of the Rubberneckin' remix, which I thought was shite; as my problem with this remix is that they should never ever tamper with the Elvis classics ...and funny that they chose a song that isn't copyrighted, do I smell money? :P

IMETJB on FECC forum brought up a very good point: "The studio version of That's Alright Mama sticks out a little clumsily. Using for example That's Alright from any of the TTWII performances, would've made it sound a bit more modern and easier on the ears.", but never the less, the classics should stay the way they are.

Neither do I - as sadly, some people tend to create various user names (n)

I have mixed emotions on this one.

I like the overall sound and the mixing of Elvis' voice in to the background, but I don't know if I like having the lady singer on board as a duet?

Perhaps it would be better to make a version with Elvis alone? :hmm:

This was Ok, but i don`t like remixes!
I think in about 20 years all Elvis songs has gotten into remixes, and the original songs are gone! :(
