What are your favourite elvis live recordings ?
From any type of releases...it would be interesting to see whether official releases are regarded higher than imports...
To make in harder lets say you can pick just five.
See how many of each type of release you pick.
Here's my stab at it .....
In no particular order -

March 22nd 1975 ( from A profile )
Guaranteed to blow your mind ( Luxor )
Live In Las vegas Disc Two ( August 11 1970 )
Event No 8 ( madison )
TTWII SE Disc Two ( Las Vegas, Aug 12 1970 (M. S.) )

Now i'm thinking of all the releases that i've missed :?
Thats 3 - 2 in favour of the boots.

In no particular order:

A Profile - The King On Stage (73/disc 1 Baxter)
Takin' Tahoe Tonight (73 FTD)
Elvis at the International (69 FTD)
Spring Tours 77 (77 FTD)
If You Talk In Your Sleep (74 Baxter)

3-2 for the official releases

Greensboro April 14th, 1972 (very good, tight show) (Triangle)
Vegas Dec. 13th, 1976 (Dinner at 8 FTD)
Cincinnati March 21st, 1976 (Holding Back The Years)
Memphis July 5th, 1976 (Goodbye Memphis)
New York June 10th, 1972 Matinee (Afternoon i.t. Garden)

So that makes 3 imports and 2 official.

Five choices makes it kinda difficult to choose though...

I hadn't contributed to this thread yet because I normally can't play by the rules and when asked for a list of 5 favorite Elvis whatevers, I usually come up with about 15. Seriously, ask me what my favorite Elvis song is and you'll get a list of a minimum of about 30.

That said, I'll give it an honest effort.

Dixieland Rocks - May 6-7, 1975
Guaranteed To Blow Your Mind - March 18, 1974
A Profile, Vol.2 - March 22, 1975
The Last Show - June 26, 1977
Goodbye Memphis - July 5, 1976

Boots win 4 to 1.

That was very difficult to do, by the way. And tomorrow I could give a completely different list.

Sorry NightRider--I just saw your response for the first time. If I ever ask everyone to post a list of favorites, I'll be sure to limit it to less than 5. Lots of great albums named here.
