Yall are gonna love this!
They did an exculsive tonight on the All Access jumpsuit display at Graceland.
Watch the video and you'll see some of Elvis' stage costumes.
He definitely had style, no doubt.

Thanks for sharing! great! :):)
Wow!!!! That was really nice.(y) They showed the suits he wore here in Huntsville the most.(y) Also I have noticed that that station's website shows more on EP and the new changes more than any other from Memphis. Great to see. I watched the Elvis 30th Anniversary special on there in August online. Myrna and Estelle were on there telling memories of haning with EP at Graceland (their words) and the jungle room. The black lady who does the anchor spots was on site doing the show live on the Graceland lawn just to the left of the mansion. They showed ther crowd for the largest candle light vigil ever! It was a nice special and tribute.

I didn't know about that show.
See, when I go off on vacation then Myrna wants to talk, lol

There were a couple of interesting things in that clip...
1. Bill Belew stopped designing Elvis' jumpsuits circa 1971/72 and Gene Doucette is responsible for the more flamboyant Jumpsuits. I guess Gene is doomed to obscurity by the less informed :hmm:
2. The "Blue Nail" Jumpsuit was on display in that clip :!: how can this be when this suit is known not to be owned by Graceland and almost certainly was in a state of bad repair as commented by Gene Doucette when he saw it in the 80's/90's. This display model has to be a replica! If this is the case which others are fake :supriced:
Popular myth strikes again.

Matt, I noticed this as well. Could the suit have possibly been reacquired by Graceland from Sherif Hanna and repaired (maybe by B&K Enterprises)??

Obviously, the jumpsuit display footage is old: look at the position of the black leather in relation to the Aloha Suit.
They wouldn't have gone to Graceland just to film a few seconds because of Belew.

Getlo,
I posted 'bout this over at FECC and they're thoughts are that this display could be that of B&K's examples of the jumpsuits and not from the All Access Exhibit. The "Red Matador" jumpsuit can also be seen here (I think) and EPE doesn't own that suit, either.

That's probably right. The blue lights in the background do look like the souvenir shop that sells those unfortunate jumpsuit replicas ...
So, yeah, that's probably it ...
Anyway, where is the Blue Nail, Red Matador ... and the Peacock?

FYI, the footage was shot at Graceland this past week at the All Access exhibit.
It's not "old".
The suits are all legit. The belts and are replicas.

You're absolutely right. It's dated 1/18/08 and the reporter says they went across the street to see the All Access Exhibit with fans. Thanks for sharing.

Nope, she's wrong.
JJ's screencap here (from 2mins 7 secs on the video) is not from the All Access exhibit at all!
The Aloha suit and the black leather suits are not a part of this exhibit!
Additionally, the Gold Attendance belt on the Red Matador: an obvious replica, as the original is in the Elvis After Dark exhibit, as Elvis wore it when he went to see Nixon.
There are no blue-lit exhibits in the All Access are either.
Neither the Blue Nail nor the Red Matador have ever been on display at Graceland.
If that split-second of footage is new (along with the rest of the suit footage), then it is obviously from one of the shops, not the All Access jumpsuit exhibit.

I only said that footage/newsreel was not old. It's what the reporter said and showed. IF it's that important to you ---I'd run that reporter down and make him print a re-do.

heres is the whole story to the link keke posted
Fans remember Bill Belew who designed Elvis' jumpsuits.

In Graceland at the All Access Exhibit, you can see the various jumpsuits Elvis used to wear. They were designed by the late Bill Belew who died earlier this month in California from diabetes.
Bill Belew once said QUOTE, "Elvis had a great body to design for".
Belew designed HUNDREDS of Elvis' jumpsuits with rhinestone and metal studding and matching capes. He also designed the two piece, karate-inspired suits and black leather.
The costumes, which weighed up to 40-pounds, were called flashy, flamboyant, vulgar, gaudy, and sexy.
Fans definitely had an appreciation for Belew's fine detail and artwork.
"It just took a wonderful craftsman to come up with those because I'm sure he had lots of ideas and they were wild. Otherwise that wouldn't have been him," Elvis fan Jean Workman said.
Elvis' fashion influenced a number of other performers like David Bowie, The Jacksons, the Osmonds and Ozzy Osbourne.
And, if you have the money, you can buy a jumpsuit just like Elvis used to wear over at the All-Access Exhibit.
It'll cost you anywhere from $1,300 to $4,000.

Very true in all you said. :D
I'm not one big on the jumpsuits but even I knew that about the 2 jumpsuits. LOL

Those trailers were pretty interesting. I'm not what they call a jumpsuit junkie but I do appreciate what they were and still are. Some of them do come off as tacky. But like that one guy said, they're a walking piece of art. They're probably the most connected thing to Elvis by the general public.
As for what keke23 posted that wasn't the same display in that news reel as on the trailer if that's what the argument is about. And why not give her the benefit of the doubt since she does live there? I would think she would have better insight than any of the members on here would. It's sad to see her become such a victim all the time.

Just because you live in Memphis doesn't mean you automatically know more about suits, concerts or even the man himself.
What was posted was a comment that the suits were authentic and that the belts were fake.
That was wrong.
The clip featuring the Aloha Suit, Red Matador and black leather suit was clearly not from the Access All Areas exhibit, but from one of the shops.

Great point Getlo. Not all residents of Memphis are walking talking Elvis encyclopedia's. I would be willing to bet that alot of residents take items such as his jumpsuits with a grain of salt! :notworthy:king:

Just to reiterate: The suits and belts are all from B&K. The Red Matador & Burning Love & Blue Nail suits have never been on display at Graceland because they are in private hands. IIRC, the "Blue Nail' suit is in desperate need of repair and it's owned by Sherif Hanna.
