And Graceland had gone up for sale, would you have bought it? What would have done with it?

...if I had really a lot of money, sure I would have bought it and would have probably turned it into my home, but that would be bad news for all the Elvis fans, cos they wouldn't have been able to visit it any more, so am not sure whether I would have went to live in it or just kept it as it is - a museum ... that's a tough decision, cos would have been really tempting to go live there :):king:...but would have bought it FOR SURE! :D

I'd do just what's bein planned.
I'd invest around the area and clean it up.
I'd build a new state of the art museum to tell his life story.
I'd buy up all the houses around the border of the mansion and make it more park-like and private.

Yes, I would have bought it.
I'll make sure (if it's possible) to get everything back as it was when Elvis died.
And, no, I won't open the upstairs for public(but I'll go upstairs lol, and will let you guys go there too! ) :D - I'll make a big tcb-world get together, paying everyone a plane ticket and accomodation for one month in Memphis!:D
..and I thought I had a lack of imagination

If I had the money to buy Graceland I would restore it to how it was before the red, still have it open to the fans and clean up the surrounding area, restore the racketball court, build a nice museum, a building to house the plane and cars, motorcyles, carts etc. and a surround sound theater where all the fans could watch his movies and stage concerts. Do any repairs necessary to keep Heartbreak Hotel.
All these new building would be across the road from Graceland.

I would have bought it, and left it exactly the way it was when he passed. And maybe just preserved it. :hmm: Tough question.
I like Marija's idea if we could get a trip to Memphis for a month wooo and she's paying, if only you had have bought it hey

Is your name Robert FX Sillerman?
Just kiddin.
That's pretty much what is bein planned.
Except for the planes imside.
ITA, it would be cool if they did move those big planes inside somewhere. But where?
It'd have to be a giant sized building

Lol Keke, yup, I agree with the surrounding area around the mansion being a park-like area. And yes, I would like to see a very large building with the plane housed in one area, the cars in another, motorcycles and cart in another etc.

I would buy Graceland and move my Parents in. I could buy a bigger mansion, but Graceland is big enough for me.I'd buy the Pink Caddy for my mom, just like Elvis did for Gladys.
No at least not knowing what I know now.
If I would have bought it to restore and open to the public I would probably be crucified for having done so.
If I bought it to move in-it would never truely be my home. I could live there100 years and it would still be Elvis Presleys home.(as it should be)
Plus I'd have to overcome the idea that he died in the house and that would take some doing.

Oh I would have bought it for sure. And all my family would live there with me. We'd play music, laugh, have great Christmas's. Always remembering to keep Elvi's traditions alive. Once or twice a year it would be open though for the fans. And there would be a huge barbeque in the summer with all the free foods that he liked! Somehow I think he'd be there with us.

If I won the lottery I'd find a large piece of land and have an EXACT replica of Graceland built . . . down to the musical gates and beautiful drive sitting on a hilltop.

buy and live in it. Give that beautiful house a soul again. Altough beautiful it stands there a bit sad and empty....

I would definetly buy Graceland and live in it as my home. But I would let the fans come to visit on Elvis' birthday and his Anniversary as well. I would have a special event for those two dates.

I really like some of the ideas here. I like that people would renew the true spirit of Graceland, and yet allow the fans to celebrate Elvis's life there too sometimes.

I'd buy it!
and i would make sure the place stayed exactly as Elvis would have wanted it . I would also make sure that a percentage of the entrance fee to go in to see Graceland would go to charity..and that all disabled fans got in for free
