View Full Version : Aloha suit worn in 1974?
I never knew EP wore the Aloha suit after 1973? So that shows his weight did not gain at that point in 1974. The picture is from Montgomery, AL March 6, 1974. You learn new things everyday.(y)

The weight issue would indeed change drastically by the end of March of that year and throughout the remainder of 1974, and, sadly, right up until August 16, 1977.
Nice pic.

No. This isn't the main "Aloha" suit...this is the third suit that was manufactured after the "Aloha" show because Elvis had gained more weight by then. The last time Elvis wore the actual "Aloha" suit was during the February 1973 LV engagement

Correction: latter part of '73 and into '74.

Elvis once wore the original '73 Bald headed Eagle Suit in '74. You can see the whole concert that it's to tight. You can see the zipper on the suit and it's very tight around his waist.

You will need to be more specific than "the whole concert". ;)
To which show are you referring?

No, that was the third suit. He last wore the January 14, 1973 "Aloha" suit during the February 1973 Las Vegas engagement.

LOL! I'll say this: No one can pull of wearing a jumpsuit like Elvis could!

He was definitely a trendsetter!! (y)
Honestly, I don't know if I could picture Elvis in anything other than a jumpsuit for his concert years. Somehow, Elvis didn't seem to be the tuxedo or suit & tie type!!
I think the jumpsuits just add that much more to the Elvis legacy!

Thats true but, in the last few years 75-77 he wasnt in shape to wear a jumpsuit. Im no fashion expert but you have to be in shape to wear a jumpsuit. The 2 piece suits were cool looking and if he wore those he probably would have started a new trend with those. The 2 piece suits hid his weight very well.

Yes, but the jumpsuits were worn for far too long.
After Aloha, it was a case of causing serious physical damage to a deceased equine.

As Tony pointed out that the last time Elvis wore the actual Aloha suit that was used in the telecast was in February 1973. The suit that was used after that was either the one from the rehearsal concert or the third suit that was made. It was off and on.

As I posted earlier, it was the third suit...the other two suits would no longer fit him because of the weight gain.

No, that is wrong. He did wear the Rehearsal Suit on very few occations. I know this because by comparing different photos of Elvis when wearing the Aloha suit. Some contains the extra star that is under the Eagle just like the Rehearsal suit. That is why I said that he wore the Rehearsal Suit and Third suit off and on through the time of 1973 (After Aloha) to 1974.

Tony you are correct and I stand corrected. It is a different suit.:supriced: I noticed that the eagle looks a little lighter in the Aloha show and I don't think it's the lighting.:hmm: Here's a comparision with the Aloha suit and the one worn March 1974.

Also, if you look closer you will see that the stars below the eagle are different too. So that also comfirms that it is a completely different suit altogether.

It could be either of them. Now, the last known time he wore the actual Aloha suit was Feb. 1973. Well, that may not be really the last time he wore it. He could of wore any of them. We need photos from the show itself where we can see the stars to see what suit he wore. We just can't say it was the third suit or the first suit or the second one. We need close up photos to see that suit it is.
