Gone Too Soon is a People magazine special that is remembering 65 celebrities who died far too young. Elvis has five pages in the book(one of them is just a picture of him marking the Musician section). On the intro page they explained why they didn't have Elvis on the cover after his death, at the time the magazine was new and death was too morbid of a subject for the cover...
When I seen this book in the grocery store I grabbed it up so fast! I haven't finished reading yet but it's a great tribute! Though they have Linda as Elvis's last long-term girlfriend.

Actually.....People magazine was not that new when Elvis died. It had been out about 4 years in August of 77. I still have the issue from the first week of January 1975. It has a big pic that takes up the entire cover, it's a pic from the MSG press conference. The cover reads "Elvis Is 40".

Well, in a way...she was his last "long-term" girlfriend...she dated him longer than Ginger Alden....
