Does anybody have some information about the time when Elvis was threatened at the international in 1970? I haven't found very much information about it. What happened, what did Elvis do? Who was it?

Here is a quick summary of the events:
August 26th, 1970:
* Las Vegas Hilton receives a call saying Elvis will be kidnapped tonight.
* An Elvis menu is received by the hotel: Elvis' head is scratched out, and "Guess who, and where?" written nearby.
August 28th, 1970 (early morning) Los Angeles:
* Joe Esposito receives an anonymous call demanding $50,000 to reveal the name of someone who is planning to kill Elvis during his show the following night.
* Joe and Ed Hookstratten arrange for John O'Grady to fly in to protect Elvis.
* The Colonel writes Elvis to say he's worried and to make sure the boys are all around him.
* Elvis calls Jerry, Ed Parker and Red to come to Vegas. All of the MM are armed for the show.
* Elvis packs a gun in each boot during the show on the 29th.
* Absolutely nothing happens.
There were a couple of other threats over the years.

Yes, the International.
There was another "threat" in 1973, but it again turned out to be nothing.
A group of drunken fans made it on to the stage, but were quickly dispensed with.

Actually.....I was there in August of 1971 and it was still called The International Hotel. When I went back the next August in 1972 it was being called The Las Vegas Hilton. :lol: :lol: I have the black ashtrays from both years, but with different names. I couldn't believe it, but last month one of those ashtrays went for $50 on Ebay. :D

The International sold its contract to the Hilton in 1970, and was officially renamed in July 1971.

Yes, but the things within the Hotel were still going by International....

No, the TTWII cameras were long-gone by then ...
