I bought this book a long time ago. It was a deep read , but good.
Not for everyone, I guess. Interesting to see just how serious Elvis was in his search. I don't doubt the world he was seeking treated him better than this one.

Kahlil Gibran's books were very popular in the '60's and '70's when everyone was such "deep" thinkers.:)

You are right Diane.....those were the days! The guy who was the "best man" in our wedding gave us that book in 1979. It's a "deep" read, and depending on where you are in life will have different meanings...:hmm:

Thanks for the link, i've wanted to read it, but not own it. frankly, it's not my taste, but reading over his notes makes it a little more interesteing!

I've read most of if not all of Kahlil Gibrans books. I started buying and reading them when i was about 14. I quite like the Garden of the Prophet and The Broken Wings.
Put you're mind to work they do.

June Juanico gave her copy of The Prophet to Elvis in 1956 because
she thought it would do good to him to read it. He was so enthusiastic
about it, that he asked her if he could keep it. She replied: 'It's yours my
love. I knew you'd like it.'
Thank you Marija for posting the pages! :D
