-I really got to know his songs better in 1997, 20 years after his passing away. I started collecting old tapes and such.

-Some songs are more meaningful than others, but I don't hate or strongly dislike anything. I don't recall him doing evil songs such as "Ebony and Ivory".

How did you become an Elvis fan?
-Extra attention from the media in 1997 - the phenomenon people said negative things about him made him all the more interesting.

Are there any young actors that you think compare to Elvis? Why?
-I can only say Elvis was in the line of James Dean (his earlier roles, not so much the mid 60's) and River Phoenix was in that line after Elvis and Dean. I know no other contemporary actor to compare.

Do you own elvis merchandise? If so, what?
-Posters, books, pictures and magazines, but the CD's and DVD's are most important.

-I'm rather someone to compose opinions and articles for the internet.

-I usually encounter more support from them than from peers.

nope..not yet.. and I don't think there won't be at all. This Elvis family has been so great and friendly.. it is really hard to think the age of other fans.

No, I don't think so. I like him just the way he was, with his mistakes and flaws.

One night I couldn't sleep. I was 8 or 9 years old. My parents were watching a TV show dedicated to Elvis and I suddenly heard the music and voice of "Love me tender". I immediately fell in love with this voice. The next day I begged my mother to buy me an Elvis disc.

I don't think that Elvis can be compared to anybody. He was so unique.

Came home from school one day, mum was playing soem songs off Elvis number 1 hits' cd. Sometime later, i decided to listen to the whole thing and i was hooked. I'd never heard anything so awesome as 'Heartbreak hotel'. Definitely a defining moment in my life

Well Elvis wasn't the very best actor, but he was good. I do like a few other actors tho

I'm a 70's Elvis fan. It's my favorite and most interesting period, I believe. I tend to ignore the 60's with all the movies he did. To me, they don't add much to Elvis' music library but take away.

How did you become an Elvis fan?
Mom and Dad rented Aloha From Hawaii on VHS and I remember watching it. Next they got me EOT then TTWII and then began a steady schedule of playing the video, rewind, watching it again, rewind and watch and repeat and repeat.

Nah.

Well, DVDs and CD definitely. A lot of live stuff--as those are my favorite. About 10-15 Elvis books...half of them are biographies (the important ones). I don't buy everything that has Elvis on it like Elvis clocks, wall paper, towels and lamps and etc etc... That's not my thing.

Not really. There are times that I feel older fans like that there are younger fans around but they kind of scoff at the idea that there are other artists/bands that are around who are NOT Elvis. I tend to feel a little uncomfortable with mega-mega Elvis fans who ONLY listen to Elvis non stop all day everyday and negate any other artists.

I haven't seen and I haven't heard all of his films and songs yet, but maybe there would be some which I wouldn't like. I love most of his songs by the way.

How did you become an Elvis fan? First I have ordered a beautiful 4 CD collection from him. I liked it and I would have like to know more about him. And after that I have bought the TTWII DVD. I fell in love with him after I saw this movie. But I realised this later, not immediately.

Well, if you'd want to know, the major problem is not the way it sounds. There are so many uninspiring songs. I don't like this song having been used for a political purpose, so it's corruption is what really bothers me.
