The person who is selling it got it off someone who got it off someone etc...

Anyway, they contacted Priscilla and through her assistant she confirmed it is authentic.

Her assistant did note that the box may have been removed from Graceland without Priscilla's knowledge many years ago.

I guess thats what happened, as a lot of things did seem to walk out the back door of Graceland from time to time.

Thanks Stryx, this person tried a couple years ago to sell the box but nobody bought, again they were asking a lot of money for it.
I wonder if it's true that it was removed or she just didn't want to admit she left it...because she did return to Graceland and took what she wanted after the break-up.:)

I would say it was removed or she just forgot.

I cant imagine if she had seen it that she would have left it. It's quite a personal piece and I doubt she would be expressing those feelings through her pesonal assistant to someone who has it, if she didn't feel it was removed.

She woudlen't have known that the guy who contacted her for the confirmation on whether it was hers or not, was going to try and sell it on Ebay.

Good point. :)
I still find it odd that she remembered and grabbed everything else...:)
I'm just tossing this around, curiousity...but why would she say otherwise thru her assistant, if I were her I wouldn't admit to leaving it...irregardless of who was asking (if I did not know the person personally or who they were). Just a thought.
But I do like your points.:)

I just don't understad if she loved elvis why she let precious things like that go.

That's completely unfair. Do you still have every possession that the people who loved you ever gave you? It is only a jewelry box. A box to store jewelry. It may have been one of several. Perhaps it was one of the thousands of Presley possessions that had no real meaning to her after all.

"I will spend my whole life through loving you." - so much for that promise from Elvis!

And Priscilla isn't the one selling it after all. And even if she was selling it - it's her right to do so.

Is my opinion and yes I keep things like that.It was even engraved with both names. And yes she has the right to sell it like everything else she has gotten rid off.But what kills me is the way she speacks of her eternal love for Elvis. She divorce him,but kept the Presley name. How convinient. She will go on until she dies defending Elvis'legacy--so she said.and I am quoting her.I DON'T LIKE THE WOMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$$$$$$$$:angry::angry:

Elvis had a clause in the divorce with Priscilla that staed she could not use the Presley name for business.

Priscilla didn't start to use it until Elvis had died.

I'm not defendng her, im just stating what happened.

I would have bought it back and passed it down to the grandkids or something. Not like 35 grand would be that much for her. But hey that is me, I still have my kids baby teeth in boxes!

I can only say, with my divorce, I let her take what she wanted .
After she was done,, I went through and got rid of what I no longer wanted.
All depends on the person.

Maybe women are more sentimental, or we expect them to be. Are we related Diane! You sound like me?

All I can say is; Thank God for women !! ;)
Truly, they are the more sentmental.
If not, I'm sure this world would be much worse than it is.

When you`re going through a separation you don`t always remember EVERY thing you want until afterwards and then it`s too late. Maybe she believed that this, along with other things she had left, were safely stored somewhere at Graceland where no one would find them and she had all the time in the world to retrieve them.

I think that it's so cool that you have little charms from your children. I keep everything people gave me. I still have my stuffed Curious George my aunt had given me at birth. That was 26 years ago!

That's very interesting info! I never head about this before!

Styx, I never understood how Priscilla got away with taking back the Presley name after Elvis died since it was a clause in his will that she not use it for business. She has the linen business now in which she uses it. Did she go to court to change her name? In that way I think she could have gotten away with it as it could have been any "Presley"???
