I can't remember seeing anything like this framed picture in the bakground.

It appears to be of a woman but I could be mistaken.

Who is it of and does anyone have a picture of it?

It could be, it's just that it's obscured.

But......does anyone have a picture of this painting in full?

Judging by what's there, I think it could be Priscilla.

I'll look at my Graceland pics to see if I captured that particular photo - and post it if I can find it.

The only photo I could find of this painting is one I found on FECC. Funkyangel posted it some time ago. I think this photo was previously on the Simplycilla site. It's definitely Priscilla:

Wow.

I am suprised he kept a painting of Priscilla hanging if indeed it is her.

Thanks for the photo, Vester has said it was taken in 76' - hadn't Graceland gone red by that stage though?

Yeah - so im guessing Vester has labelled the year wrong in his photo.

I doubt, I could be wrong, but I doubt Elvis kept up a picture of Priscilla in Graceland.

maybe for Lisa's sake? Having a few pics of her mom around I'm sure was comforting to her.

The caption says the picture was in Minnie May's bedroom so maybe she wanted to keep it. I'm still not sure it's Priscilla but I can't imagine who else it could be.

Maybe the date of the pic is wrong; there seemed to be a lot of discussion about it on FECC. It looks more like it was taken in the living room and not Dodger's room, just looking at the background. It could of been taken a few years earlier, and whoever got the years mixed up or whatever. Don't know..

Ruggishboo, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure I've seen that peacock wall hanging over Minnie's dresser before in another photo.

Yes, Miss Clawdy, the photo you posted could very well be the model for the painting in the picture. Actually it's hard to tell whether it's a painting or a photo??

I'm pretty sure it's a painting. I don't think that the picture of Priscilla was originally in color. :hmm:

I believe this pic might have actually been taken closer to Christmas that year?; Elvis is displaying the gun as a gift he just received.

I also think it was taken at the same time as the famous shot of Elvis and the MM sitting around and displaying their newly-received police badges.

Unless these events happened on the same day ... ?

Another Christmas shot.

Anyone have any pics of Cilla at Sonny's wedding at hand? Was she wearing the same outfit as seen here?

The pics are probably from the same day then.

So why was Elvis showing off the rifle in a post-wedding pic?

Elvis and Cilla's wedding may have been a shotgun wedding (well, almost) but Judy and Sonny's certainly wasn't. They're still together and in love to this day! (y)

Priscilla is definitely wearing the same dress and Elvis the same clothes as well. Was Sonny's wedding close around Christmas? Oops, just re-read Ruggishgoo's post.

That painting doesen't hang in that position at Graceland now....in fact I don't remember ever seeing it in the house.

I presume it was removed when Linda moved in, maybe before or during the redecoration.

I wonder if Priscilla has it in her home in L.A now or if it is in storage in Memphis.:hmm:

Okay, all of these photos were indeed taken December 28th, 1970 - the day of Sonny West marrying Judy Jordan. The pic with all the boys and their badges was taken after the church reception. The badges were given to the boys by Memphis Sheriff Nixon, two months prior in October.

The gun shown was purchased two days before (on December 26th) at Taylor's Gun Shop. Several others were purchased as well.

George Klein married Barbara Little in Elvis' suite at the International Hotel, Las Vegas on December 5th.

Dick Grob married his wife in Elvis' Palm Springs home on December 11th.

Looks like December '70 was a busy month for weddings in Elvis' world.

As I recall they left Sonny and Judy's wedding reception to retire to Graceland at Elvis' suggestion.

These pics are from Graceland, Dec 28 1970. Itīs Sonny & Judy Westsī weddingday, they had a reception at Graceland afterwards. Sonny tells that in his book as well. Later that evening they also went to the Memphian to watch some movies. (Not sure Sonny and Judy went along though - what a weird way to spend your wedding evening...)

The painting IS Priscilla, and itīs made after the photo earlier posted here.

Minnie May kept it after the divorce. She liked Priscilla a lot.

Didn't know Minnie Mae kept it.

Did she hang it in her room? As I doubt Linda would have stood for it to remain in the front room, which is where the photo of Minnie and her kids is taken. Vester got both the year 76' and the location of the photo wrong in his book!

I liked ol' Vester, but I can't imagine he would have been able to remember where and when every pic was taken. And it may have been the fault of his ghost writer and sub-editor too ...

Very true.

It's just 76' when Graceland was redecorated in 74' - and also that it is in the front room rather than Grandma's room.

Which is another thing....

Grandma was in that downstairs room a lot more than Vernon and Gladys....yet they are calling it Vernon and Gladys's room.

By the way, where did Vernon sleep when he moved back into the Mansion?

I was in Vernon's house on Dolan Drive over the summer and it is a shame how badly it has deteriorated.

He did have plans for a great jacquzzi in the downstairs bedroom though!
