Well for a start someone who wasn't around Elvis has wrote it. So its based on their interpretation of Elvis's friends interpretation of what happened around Elvis.

Best to read books by those who knew him first before moving onto General biographys. Of the general ones Last Train and Careless Love are probabaly the two best. Not that I am fully in support of them, but they are the best of whats out there.

Joe Mosheo's book........considering he really wasn't around Elvis that much and didn't see much of Elvis after Elvis and Imperials parted company, I do wonder what he is going to put into it.

He is quite friendly with Priscilla and was used by EPE a lot during Elvis week so I guess he's out to make a quick buck. He's going to have to fill the book with stories that he probabaly wasn't for and they definitley will paint Priscilla and EPE in a good light.

Probabaly not worth the paper it's written on if your after a true reflection of his limited time with Elvis.

Jen, please post your reactions to the book, it's one i considered getting at one time.
Diane, haven't seen that book, but i did get the dvd and i love it. a lot of warm fuzzies!
personally, i swore off Elvis books, because for me, they all seemed about the same, being diferent only in the slanted facts as told by a close friend/relative/grateful employee,. and by slanted i don't mean to imply anything derogatory! Honest!
THen, when cruising through amazon.com with a fistful of birthday cash, i stumbled across Paul Simpson's Rough Guide to Elvis. it was cheap enough so i ordered it and although i haven't gotten to far, i'm enjoying it! Paul makes no pretenses, he just tells the facts as he knows them. i showed it my mom, who's a huge Elvis fan, and her only complaint was that the type was too small. :lmfao:she has old, by loving eyes!

I had a good look through the book last night and l thought it was good, doesn't really put priscilla in a good light and the col looks really bad too. Tells about elvis and his mother and favorite food. Doesn't put elvis in a bad way. The MM are also mentioned but was to tried to read about them.

Yes, I'd like to hear what you think too, Jen.
Unfortunately, most evryone puts Priscilla and the Col.in a bad light.
In the review I really didn't see much about Priscilla or the Col.
The way it read, not much was "covered up" about Elvis either. Just from a different viewpoint.. Oh well. All the books written are just from a bystanders opinion. I enjoy reading about Elvis and his mom. (y)

some people think that just cause this book is stamped by EPE it doesn't look bad on people, but it tells about the feelings about elvis and Ann was according to the book was very deep love between the two of them. Elvis and gladys you see a how elvis loved his mother and was really lost cause of her dying. The biggest part that interested me is the part about elvis twin jesse and how elvis felt being without him.

Well I'm 3/4 through The Gospel of Elvis by Joe Mosheo and although I like it, I'm also disappointed as many of the things Joe has to say in it are the the DVD I have of He Touched Me. Also the fact that he is close to Priscilla and EPE bothers me as to his true motives for writing this book.

Hope it improves as I read on......

Sorry your disapointed diane, but the stories about elvis was my favorite. I like seeing elvis gospel side, he turly had a love for god and that stayed with him since he was a child.

Joe hasn't much to write about.

He wasn't around Elvis that much. Guess that's why his DVD and Book are crossing over.

He just doesen't have the material to fill it with.

That was why I'm disappointed Jen.....I'd heard most of what he wrote about before. I was looking for something new but I guess there's little chance of that happening anymore. I'm looking forward to George's book next year with the same probably silly hope.

l find that hard when every book we read is the same old stuff, nothing new. I agree l do hope that Georde's book has rare stories and such. Be such a good read if new things were being told.
