I'm just wondering how did this go. I mean probly he was looking at the row of jumpsuits hanging next to each other and said: Ok, Joe, I pick this one for today. (and he points at the silver phoenix suit for exemple). Any facts or ideas? How did he make his choice? Would love to see that moment

I have wondered the same thing. :hmm: Part of the anticipation of getting ready to go see him was thinking about what he would be wearing that evening. :D:D

Most times it wasn't Elvis who made the choice. While he was preparing one of his aides layed out a jumpsuit to wear. In later years this was either Al Strada or Ricky Stanley.

Elvis was also kinda limited to what he could wear for the last tour.

I'm of the same understanding as you, Leroy.
Though Mr Lansky made the suits as he believed would please Elvis.
I love Mr Lanskys interviews . Especially the second one here.
He tells it in plain words , I get a kick out of him...;)

What does Mr Lansky have to do with Elvis' jumpsuits?

Lansky's is where Elvis used to buy his street clothes. Bill Belew and Gene Doucette are the ones who designed his jumpsuits. I know that thanks to Leroy.

I imagine once in a while Elvis might say he wanted to wear a different suit than the one that was put out for him but I can't be sure...he may not have.

And yes, I was wrong in this. I was thinking of what Leroy said and the last suit Lansky made for EP.
Plus, I like Lansky. He's a corker .(y)

So sorry; to Leroy especially. He should have caught me. ;)

It's ok. He thinks he's bothering me. I consider the source. ;)
Some things I've seen "she" posted , I'd be happy to claim. Of course I'm not even sure if that was a male or female .:'(

I believe the mods warned us about this on another thread.

The same thread where Lakeisha defended her friend cameron by referring to cameron as a "she". And if Lakeisha knows cameron so well, I see no reason why she would lie about cameron's gender. Although, there was no follow-up response from either of them when Suzan and I mentioned it.

But back to the suits.

I often wondered why Elvis stuck to (mainly) the Sundial towards the end.

Yes, it was probably the only one that fitted him anymore, but you'd think he would've had some other ones made. Suits were regularly updated in the other years, so why not '77 as well?

Pretty much.

He wore the King of Spades in Kansas City on June 18th.

In the second-to-last tour, though, it was all Sundial.

And yeah, there may very well have been two Sundials actually used, but you see my point about repetition.

I wondered about why he wore the Sundial suit so much as well. It could be he felt so bad that last year he didn't think of having another done. There was one that was made for the up-coming tour that he never lived to do (I didn't like it).

Really? Sorry, I never saw that .
I don't "know " Lakeisha except from here .
I'd suggest that if any more personal problems you have with me, be taken off the site. You can message me and I'd be happy to correct you .:P

IF a moderator said anything like you said, I'd appreciate them doing the same.

I don't believe he didn't fit other jumpsuits anymore...I have seen him ''fatter'' in '75 so I don't think this is correct.

Thanks that is very accurate. (y) Where do you get such info? What are your sources? I would be interested in different issues about Elvis' shows.

From 1973 all jumpsuits were made in a way the could be let out..... During his 1977 tours Elvis was still able to wear at least a few suits like the 1975 "Rain Suit", the 1975 "Chief", the 1975 "V-neck", the 1974 "Arabian", the 1974 "Blue Swirl" ..... It wasn't really a matter of non-fitting suits. I guess it was more a lack of interest..... The Spirit was gone..... And for the upcoming August 1977 tour five(!) new designs were made. There wasn't just one. But Graceland is showing one only.

I just tried to talk to you IM .
This needs to stop if the rules are enforced here .

I'm well aware I screwed up . I apologized ; especially to Leroy as I know he knows what he talks about.
I was trying to do too many things at once today. Actually, that about Lansky was intended for another site I was monitoring.
I've followed Leroy before on Elviscrawler . I'd believe him on Jumpsuits over and above anyone I've ever met .(y)

Yeh, I totally get what you are saying. That's the reason that I have trouble telling one show from another on the June 77 tour. I wonder if at that point he simply didn't care any more. :hmm: :hmm:

There is four other suits that are kept secret?

Thank you for your info. Now we all know he fit more than one suit in 1977
