EPE is again behaving like Nazi stormtroopers.
This commercial should never have been banned; it's terrific.
If EPE and Graceland can sell crap like talking heads and Elvis hot chocolate, then I don't see why sellng batteries is any big deal.
Oh, wait ... that's right. Because EPE won't make any $$$ of it, that's why!

I think it's kind of cute. But there are strict rules for using Elvis or his "likeness" in power at EPE.

I liked it a lot too. I thought it was cute and certainly it didn't present Elvis in a bad light at all. So this one is gone but the Viagra one continues? (n)

The Viagra commercial has nothing whatsoever to do with Elvis, or EPE. They have no control over how the melody for the song Viva Las Vegas was used. They do not own the song, so they have no right to object.
Besides, I don't hear anyone linking that commercial with Elvis, except for some fans who might object to it (why, I don't know ... impotence is a serious medical problem for some men).

Good commercial. I remember seeing it on TV. At least they actually used Elvis and not some impersonator. Not sure why it would be banned but I can guess.

I think it was banned because EPE doesn't want the "Elvis is alive" theory to go on...Whatever, they have no sense of humor. I will buy this brand of battery to take my revenge :P

I think it was banned because EPE doesn't want the "Elvis is alive" theory to go on...
And yet, they had the hide to use an impersonator at the 25th and 30th anniversary concerts to give one the impression that Elvis was "in the building".
EPE is inconsistent if nothing else! ;)

Sorry Getlo, I have no problem with the product as I'm sure it's a godsend for some but I don't particularly like Elvis connected with it....I'm just prissy about things like that....older generation thinking you know.:D

Maybe I`ve said this already elsewhere,I can`t remember,but...I guess if they have to use Elvis name to sell products it should be for something he used or liked..like Pepsi or Gatorade...or Gibson guitars....
I would still be happier if they didn`t use him like that at all.

I don't particularly like Elvis connected with it.
Elvis isn't connected with the Viagra ad; that's the point.
No one in the general public has made a serious connection betwen the ad and Elvis.
And if they have, so what? It's a relatively light-hearted, somewhat silly, commercial.
... which EPE has abolsutely no control over.
I do know the ad pissed Lisa Marie off ... so that's gotta be a good thing!

That's a pretty cool commercial.
But where does it say it's been banned?
As for the Viagra add.....EPE had no control over the song rights to that.
This commercial does have Elvis in it and from AFH and EPE owns that stuff.
If they didn't use the actual Elvis footage then it wouldn't have been no issue.
I don't agree with everything EPE do, but they gotta make money to stay up as a business.

Was it banned because the battery company had not got clearance from EPE to use Elvis's likeness? Laws are laws and it they did not get proper permission from EPE then it should be pulled. Otherwise everyone and their brother would be hawking their product with Elvis somehow attached.

I see it few years ago, It was on for few months , I'm not Sure It was Banned or It's Running time or air play is Edtited by EPE.
Tom
You know now that I think about it, wasn't that commercial run here in the US maybe 5 years back? If thats the case I'm pretty sure it was not banned- it just ran its course.

Yes, that's true.
They didn't ask for a permission from EPE and still ran the commercial.
I don't like what EPE does much, but this time they had the rights to ban it.
I like the commercial though :D

I have the same sentiment about it, Diane. If I could have picked one to stay, and one to go, this one would have stayed, and the Viagra one would have been axed. At first I thought, "Oh, oh, where we going with this?"....but by the end I was smiling :D as it shows the world about ELVIS' staying power in popularity. :D

Um...the guy in the Aloha suit was an impersonator...the very quick shot of Elvis in that commercial comes from the rehearsal show for Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii on January 12, 1973.

Just found this on EIN. I'm sure it's beenn posted before, but I couldn't find it. My favorite commercial, besides the battery one is the Nike one. Even though Elvis isn't in it. It is IMO, a great use of song!
