There are rumours that Elvis recorded Feelings at Graceland on the night of February 7/8 1976, although no tape has surfaced. Not even a line or two.

Some of the musicians have gone on record saying that he did record it.

It was a rehearsal only though, and evidence suggests that it was recorded onto the same (now erased) tape from where America The Beautiful came from on the Jungle Room Sessions FTD. Only the very last line of ATB was recovered from that tape: the full studio version of that was lost forever.

Personally, I could live without hearing Feelings ... that songs sucks. (n)

Maybe it's not the best song ever, but Elvis had this way of making a song better when he performed it...
If it was ever recorded, it's not released :(

in my book Elvis a-z it says that he recorded this song on the night of Ocotber 30/November 1 1976s but all takes were incomplete.

Maybe your friend is asking because they have heard the version by Jimmy Ellis aka Orion.

In #9 of Elvis: The Man and His Music Kathy Westmoreland said the following:

"JEK: There have been many rumours regarding unreleased material. If I could just shoot a few titles at you - things like 'love will keep us together', 'Pearls a Singer', 'Crying', 'Running Scared', 'Feelings'...
KW: 'Feelings'! I know he did record that. Has it never been released?
JEK: No.
KW: Maybe we did not finish it...
JEK: But you're positive that RCA has enough of it to make up a record suitable for release?
KW: Oh yes, undoubtedly. ...Felton kept the tape running on everything we did, so there must be lots of things on tape they could use."

A few years later, after examining the session tapes, Ernst Jorgensen said the following [Elvis the Man and His Music, #19]:

"February 1976 at Graceland. We have ALL the tapes. Elvis recorded 'America' but decided to erase it. ('Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain' was recorded over it). Elvis and the band tried out 'Feelings', but Elvis didn't like it and it was NOT recorded."

There is a persistent rumour that David Briggs ran his own tape recorder at these sessions but as yet that has not been confirmed, neither have they surfaced.

Feelings recorded by Elvis on Monday, 1 November 1976
Written by: Albert
Originally recorded by Morris Albert in 1975
Hear Elvis's version on:
Brazilian singer/songwriter Morris Albert scored a big hit in South and Central America with his number "Feelings" before it was released in the USA, where it reached the top ten. It went on to become a worldwide hit. The Paris Appeals Court convicted Albert of plagiarism in 1987, forcing him to pay half a million dollars to French composer Louis Gasté who had accused Albert of using his composition Pour Toi as the basis of Feelings.
Pour Toi was written for the film Le Feu Aux Poudres and was originally recorded in 1957 by Dario Moreno. It is said that "Feelings" was the last song recorded by Elvis during a studio session (October 31-November 1, 1976), but that it was never completed. Elvis's version has never been released.

That book is notoriously out of date. Feelings was rehearsed only on the night of February 7th and 8th, 1976; the same session as Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain (see Ernst's comments in previous post).

I hope a version somehow surfaces. Its not that I have any "Feelings" for the song itself-but would like to hear how Elvis approached it.

If it exists I want to hear it, great song or schlock. Let's face it, he's been gone 30 years now, and everything we have left of him is priceless.

I've never liked the song either but I would love to hear Elvis' rendition of it as he had a way of making some so-so song sound pretty good.

This friend of mine is an Elvis fan for about 15 years i think, and he doesn't know English very well... well, in fact he barely understands it, lol... and i translated everything you guys wrote and he asked me to thank all of you. So, thanks again, on behalf of me and my friend. :D
