The music, Lisa of course. But I think a legacy of the rags to riches story, about a man who never forgot his beginnings.
The main good thing that came out of his life was the hapiness he brought to so many people. Not many can claim to have affected so many people in a good way.

I agree with you. He gave and gives happiness and hope to many many people in more than one way. He will be forever remembered for a positive thing in history without even pretending it.
Good work Elvis.

It's gotta be all of the above . :)
But, so much more that most never knew about. I liked the way he helped
anyone when he saw them in need {many times anonymous }
IMO, he was trying to do as he was raised and believed so strongly.
In spite of what others may think; I don't believe he wasted a thing.
Everything he had he shared with others .
IMO, that is the makings of a great man; not the fame or riches.
Well, done Elvis...(y)

I think the best things that came out of his life are the TCB-World threads on Priscilla, Lisa, the Memphis Mafia and expanding Graceland, for the way that they always stay on course and the good will that is spread by all those who contribute to them. Sometimes you have to laugh at this stuff or you go insane.
Other than that, I would have to agree with Jak's answer: the happiness he has brought out in people through his music primarily but other ways as well. Making people happy was a professed goal of his and he continues to do an incredible job of it.
...That and his contribution to culture in America and throughout the world. In the fifties he sent out a shockwave that is still being felt. Part of that cultural contribution was his embracing black music, not just the songs but the artists as well. He was a uniter; look how he has brought all these TCBers from all over the world together. We get on alright most of the time. (y)

I'd call that Tactics. ;) Which Elvis could be known to use as well.
In his last years; not so much.
Congrats on your sense of humour . Laughter is what I remember the most about Elvis ; next to his music. (y)

Lisa
His incredible talent
Leaving a legacy that is unparralleled (sp?lol)
He affected so many people in such a good and positive way.
The rags to riches story, making an entire generation (and beyond) believe that they to could pull themselves out of whatever situation they faced, he was an inspiration.
The way he always made time for the fans, even allowing them to enter the grounds of Graceland, I can't think of a single star or celeb who would even ENTERTAIN the thought of doing that.
His beautiful heart, generousity, just everything about him and his treatment of his fellow man (for the most part).

I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said, but I feel like I can't leave this thread w/o commenting.
I don't know that there has ever existed a more physically beautiful human being EVER!
I am sure that I've never heard another voice like his.
That talent - I mean, was there any sort of music he couldn't do? I haven't found any so far. And for Heaven's sake, he knew just about every song out there!
Generosity, that he so often practiced anonymously. I'm positive that there are things he did that no one will ever know about.
He died before I was born, yet some of his songs I feel he's singing just for me. I don't know how he knew people would need to hear him sing.
I don't mean to sound like a fruitcake nor make him look like a saint. He's not and neither is anyone else. But there was something special about him, and he gave so much to this world.

I love the way that there are the Fan Clubs, where I believe that people can make friends, and have a common interest. People are brought together.
I also enjoyed reading, immensely, what every-one else has shared, and I agree (y)
There was one email Group, that I was a member of, whereas the people would pray for each other if someone was sick, or needed it; they supported each other in every way; they talked about Elvis, and supported each other lovingly. They are lovely, special people. Unfortunately, time is limited for me now, but at the time, I really loved being there. Hiya Ellie!!
If it wasn't for me deciding one day to look for Elvis and some fans to talk with, lol, I wouldn't have met, who I have.
For me personally, there has been a miracle, and many blessings, but all in all, if it wasn't for Elvis, they wouldn't have occurred. So, dreams do come true. I had a life long one, which came true, and I still have trouble processing itb. What I learnt, is people are people, we all need the same thing.
Love.
Hugs,
Kimmi
P.S. I learnt a lot from Elvis, and you know, no matter what people have said, even with regard to his friends, he always tried to still, look at both sides, as we are all human. I respect him, learn from him, and treasure him.

The music for a start but also the friendships that endure today
A music revolution which affected life like no other had ever before.
IMO Rock-n-roll in its "basic form" is fun set to music. It makes you smile-it makes you want to tap your foot or dance. So Elvis led this revolution and the world smiled.

The fact that he is still remembered, though he didn't think he would be.
And many other things.
Too long to list ;)
