How many of you fastforward the Sherrill Nielsen solo of it's now or never..tonight I've played The Last Live Sessions 6-26-77 and the Tonight 8:30 May 22nd 1977 shows and just cant sit through and listen to the solos before Elvis does It's Now Or Never..I skip right to where Elvis begins..

I don't skip the solos-he does have a great tenor voice and I don't mind listening. Elvis had a great respect for the bass and tenor voices and so do I.

i tend to skip all the solos. Elvis gave over too much time to his support crew in the last year or so.

I don't skip the solos either. I don't particularly like to look at Nielsen, but I do like his voice. I love the Imperials' "Sweet Sweet Spirit" but Donny Sumner singing "The Lighthouse" in the TTWII rehearsals is my favorite.

I agree!(y)

Especially the band intro's...15 minutes sometimes to introduce them. Wish Elvis would've kept the intros like he did in Aloha concert, without everyone getting a solo.

I agree Diane. Nielsen has a nice voice (y):D
I NEVER skip the Imperials with Sweet Sweet Spirit, it's just great....and it's so touching when you see Elvis really enjoying it.
The Lighthouse isn't bad at all either :D

Don`t think I`ve ever skipped any part of an Elvis show when I`m listening to it.....I have a lot of respect for everyone that Elvis had with him...and they were usually there for their talent. Agree with Diane on the version of "The Lighthouse" from "Elvis on tour"..shivers down the spine every time!

Yep i`m a skipper, his voice to me is like dragging your nails down a chalk board! Other tracks i skip are JD`s "Why Me Lord" and "Lifehouse".............bloody torture.

I would not call him overrated-Elvis was a pretty good judge of talent and he obviously was enthralled with Sherrill and JDs voices. Now I will admit I would not want to hear them sing the whole hour- but a solo here and there is not such a big deal. Pretty much any big act lets their main sidemen solo and I see nothing wrong in it. It gives them a moment in the spotlight which Elvis wanted them to have.

I don't skip over them, I like them, I think ea. was talented in their own way, Elvis had a good ear for things like that.

I agree KPM & Marija. :D:D

It was great the first time or two, but after that I really don't care to hear it again. It's just not my kinda music. There is only one voice I want to hear over and over...It belongs to that cute guy with the jumpuit named Elvis.

I always listen to the solos....it's part of the show.Sometimes I don't care for it......but
really it depends on my mood also.I sometimes skip it if I'm in the right mood.
