EPE is suing a commercial

I don't know if they would, but since they have their own youtube I would be leery, also depends on the video that you posted.
As for suing a commercial? I've not heard about that, but quite possible as Lisa has not been happy w/a couple of them that have been released.

And actually, you know what, let me clarify, if they did not want your video up, you would be contacted by one of their atty's. requesting you remove the content in question, they would give you so many days in which to do this and they would ask for proof of compliance. If you complied that would be the end of it, so don't let that comment scare you. :)

Also w/you being in England, due to the ruling in the case of elvislyyours I don't know what EPE's legal standing in England is?????? I also dont' know enough about youtube to know if there is a seperat sign up for those outside the U.S.?

I don't think you'll have an issue w/this, perhaps if it were actual Elvis footage or Elvis song, voice, perhaps, but I don't see you getting in trouble for this. :) People have posted far worse copyright infringement material on the Presley's and nothing done to them, so I wouldn't worry.

I would though be leery and just keep in mind that the artist of the song may have an issue, but again, they wouldn't just sue you, they would first request you take it down.

And again the laws may be quite different in England then they are here.:)

Don't let what that person wrote scare you.:)

Thanks for your kind comment susan glad you enjoyed it. there are lots of us on TCB that make videos and i am wondering if they have had the same comment? let me know if you have. marija, daneille,. i have read through the copywrite again and i have not done anything wrong. thanks agin susan for your help. if EPE wan to sue me they will have a job.

I've not had such comment left on mine and you are correct a lot of fans post tributes like this, and as far as I can tell, other then the song, you've not infringed on anything.:)

Let me clarify, depending on the copyright status of that song, that to may not even be infringement.:)

I'm not sure, but I don't think you can get sued using Youtube: if EPE would want you to remove one of your video, they would ask Youtube to do it...and do you really think they have the time to watch all the Elvis videos? :P

I don't think they can touch your video - look at the thousands of others on there compiled of Elvis photo's - that are on the internet everywhere - and Elvis songs - etc. So someone is just giving you a hard time. As for them suing over a commercial - I bet it's that Viva Viagra one they are talking about and even Lisa herself said they have no control over that song - so they can't sue over it....but that's the only commercial that I've heard EPE have a problem with.....

The other commercial was the Keebler elves one was dressed as Elvis...Lisa was angry w/that one as well, but again didn't own the song, but they may have been able to do something about the image?

But anyway, it is a beautiful video, touching, very much so...and I truly don't think anyone would hassle you over it...and again like ksimme said and I tried to say, lots and lots of Elvis stuff out there.:D

My husband lost his father who he was close to and his mum bought him the luther vandross version of the song, this is what inspired me to make a video for lisa with kelly coffys version, and reading the comments it has touched many people. i appreciate all your comments and i am glad it touched you to utmom2008.
