The Elvis Sessions III book would be a nice addition to any collection with a lot of info, but also some speculations about did he or did he not record this or that.

When it came out I read that it also wasn't that accurate at some points.

Maybe someones else knows if this is true.

Still a great book when you want to know everything about the recording sessions.

The inaccuracies are few and far between, and it is generally very reliable. Although, it has one pic from 1973 labelled as 1976, and a few other things like that. Small things, nothing major.

But now the book is a bit out of date, as there has been a lot of new stuff (especially alternate takes) that have emerged since the book was last published in 2004.

But it's an excellent reference guide; I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get serious about Elvis' music.

And let's not forget the five FTD releases.

Four of them are worthwhile, the last one so far: Live In L.A. isn't that great, a lot of blurry pictures, which is a shame.

And the old The Concert Years book by Stein Erik Skar is still worth while, because of the newspaper concert clippings and the interesting info and the great pictures.

the rugerro book is great and filled with pics from the uniondale performances both aft/eve and some real great close up shots, as is bud glass born to rock, i just hate that johns book was a soft back. another great and rare book is BOBBY AND ELVIS , by his cousin bobby it ws a great book filled with shots of him wearing the leather jacket the hilton gave him in 72 by northbeach leather, all 8x10 shots , including some of him wearing the redscarg draped across his chest[he loved that look] a real rare and great little softback.

Tunzi books are very expensive, and iof any of them grab your attention, it's always best to get them from him or an Elvis club when they first come out.

They're published in such limited numbers that the prices keep going up.

I stopped buying his picture books years ago as they're pretty much all the same after a while.

I'll agree with the fact Tunzi books are expensive, IMO these books are not for the casual fan as the do come at a high price even second hand!

Many years ago these books were a treasure trove of pictures that had rarely been seen, with the advent of the Internet these pictures are more common place. I have several Tunzi books and wouldn't part with then other than to trade for rare photo's.

I have got the Elvis Sessions Vol II, not sure I would buy Vol three

If any of you are into bootleg records, you must get Jailhouse Rock, by Lee Cotten and Howard A DeWitt.

And when I say records ... I mean fabulous, wonderful VINYL!

This book's from 1983, and so is quite out of date, but it gives a great insight into the boot LPs from 1970 to then. Large pics of each cover (B&W only); different and counterfeit versions; contents of each LP, with each LP side reviewed separately and the authors' own summaries and opinions of each one.

Several inacuracies (even by 1983 standards) but not too many clunkers.

I'd love to see an update of this one, but still only with vinyl!

An essential purchase, IMO.

I'm not in to collecting boot records, as they are far more difficult to track down most of the time, but I love their huge covers..(y)

i think many of pauls books are great like thank you very much- at the time all those englewood pics were unpublished and thankfully he gave us the cover pic as a poster, also magic moments was nice [many a pic were already published] from the citry of .... is a fantastic lichter book very original with many a great and unpublished pics from the philly shows , another great one is rebel heart[a fantastic piece of work, awsome pics] and a book that i thought suked is E.P. in concert- just jumbled all those colour pics in the middle[even 69 press confrence pics???] and many of the pics are familliar to seasoned fans , and the date/jumpsuit's many are incorrect- no doubt he tried effortessly to copy erik skarrs concert book [which is the best and most accurate]., his latest imoratl is nice and the inclusion of colour pics is on the rigfht track , but the probelem is that a host of all the pics in this book are very familliar, especially to seasoned fans.

this is a book that definetly needs an update, mine is in tatters , and this book was published with only 2000 copies printed/published , and it's one i come to time to time , but it really serves no purpose at present as it deals with ol 70-80 titles all lp of course, so it's not essentail , but nice to have, if your main boot collection contains cd's then you'll want to pass up on this.
