This movie is ridiculous from the beginning to the end; especially the blatant lie in the beginning!!
Please, if you want to see this piece of s**t then just download it instead of buying it - I downloaded it and where I live it's legal for me to share links, pm me if you don't know of a warez site or if you don't download torrents
That movie sucked badly to put it gently.

well for one i don't like his step-brother he was just jelious in my mind because he didn't leave anything to him. I would just go watch it to see what lies he put in there.
There is a reason why none of Elvis friends and family don't like David...and now you know why!

I don't see how he could lose too much Diane. I saw it last week , a gift from someone who doesn't know the first thing about him , just thought she was giving me an Elvis gift. They couldn't have spent more then a couple hundred dollars making it.
I got a huge laugh out of it to be honest with you all. Its really funny as heck. In Davidland he is a big big star. They rarely refer to Elvis, as Elvis, just as Boss or King. Everyone but a fictional 5 ft tall guy and Mean Old Red lets use this guy to illustrate  , who they used another name for in the film and who punched David out in a classic scene, looked up to him. He was the head bodyguard. David gets all the women, and at the end there is a scene where Vernon is firing David the day of the Funeral and tells him that Elvis was jealous of him, and thought he was trying to steal Ginger away from him. LOL its priceless er ahh worthless stuff. I never cried from a movie in my life but I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming at David the Terminator seeing the bad guy and launching into action leaping down the stairs to take the weapon from the would be assassin while the others all shoved "Boss" into a limo and drove away while Davey made mean faces and threatened to blow the bad guys head off while the cops stood there and looked in Awe . Its hilarious seeing how amazing that David thinks David is.
Once I started watching and saw how big this guys ego is, I couldn't really take it as a hit on Elvis memory anymore. He wasn't talking about "Elvis" at all
he lived in a fictional world, where he was amazing and everyone else was below him looking up . Basically IMO it came off like its a bad comic book with drug use, but David is the hero. You have to see it to believe it. I'm not telling you to run and buy it, but if you can see it for free go for it, I suspect you'll laugh like crazy. Its for sure not to be taken serious.

And that actor, OMG
Does David realise how good looking Elvis was?????

Well it runs in that family.... I must reckon.

Diane,
I can understand people that Love Elvis being ticked off about it, unless they've seen it. Then he comes off as so laughable, and its such buffoonery that its impossible to take him serious on any level. It was such nonsense and he has such a high opinion of himself that I doubt he ever seen anything , as it really was. All he was missing was a cape and tights.

Lol, I'm feeling better every minute JDD....a huge thanks! That could really work in Elvis' favor after all...make people question what those around him have been saying all these years. Not to whitewash him completely but to give Elvis a little benefit of the doubt for a change.

Aside from Stanley, do you think the clip on youtube reflects how Elvis was?
Diane
10-25-2007, 05:28 PM
Not completely to me JJ. I do believe that Elvis did have some bad times the last couple of years (since 1974) but I can't see his personality being as portrayed in the film, aka always gun in hand, grabbing and hugging and looking for reassurance etc. I think Elvis was too proud to let on how bad he felt to many and I don't think David was one of them.
Also, didn't several of the MM say he was feeling pretty good on the eve of his new concert tour? Playing racketball etc.? I think they also said he'd lost some weight in anticipation of the tour and looked and acted like he felt better, no where near the top of his game, but better than he had most of the year.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

This "movie" looks worse than I thought it would be! What a joke??:lmfao:
Why is it everyone in contact with Elvis makes themselves looks so amazing and makes Elvis look so bad! How much significance did David Stanley play in Elvis' life? If Elvis was waving that gun around so often and David felt he was a "caretaker" why not just leave??
The person playing Elvis, talk about terrible casting! What a joke! (n)

Hired this out on Saturday night.
Words fail me ... however, I'll give it a go.
The story may well have been true from David's point of view (I saw nothing that really fell into the totally unbelievable category) but what the hell were they thinking with the casting?
I mean, the guy playing Elvis ... were they serious? He had a '66 haircut in the '70s, and there wasn't even the slightest effort to have jumpsuits that looked even remotely like the real thing.
Like all (good) bad movies, the haircuts and scene settings were just plain wrong.
I made it through the first 20 minutes or so, then just fast-forwarded through the rest, stopping for a good laugh or three during most scenes.
And I loved how they never used the name "Elvis", and how all the MM were just fictional names.
Normally, I'd say to everyone to watch it and make up your own mind. But trust me when I tell you: don't bother. (n)(n)(n)

Well, there were needles in Elvis' medical suitcase on the road. He did inject B12 regularly.
And I imagine the knife attack scene was poetic license, and was representative of instances where fans got too close.

Say what now; I've never heard about that... eehh, did Elvis really inject himself (in the chest or wherever else) with B12's?! With friggin' needles??? (source??)
Man, his cool image, in my mind, is diminishing - first, he pee's while sitting down (according to what some posters here say) and now this :supriced: (n)
And that's wayyy too much "poetic license", as he's trying to make himself "cool" (with fails horribly)... in my opinion isn't not poetic licence, just a view inside the sick and twisted mind of David Stanley
And yepp... that's propably meant to be Charlie Hodge who's attacking the girl

Yes, he did. Or he had someone else do it for him. B12 is a vitamin, and it gave him a boost before shows. It's certainly not a drug, so don't let it diminish your opinion of Elvis at all.

Yeah some fans judge those around Elvis only by the way they tell their stories. You can´t meassure people´s goodness by that, that´s absurd in my opinion.

I'm a he ;) ...well, at least the last time I checked:P However, it very, very much seems to me that he is squatting; but I sure hope that he is standing up if he's peeing.
However, I've heard rumours that he injected virgin's urine in him before the Aloha concert (with a needle or needles), because he thought that it would have "slimming effects"; so this is the only incident I know of with him and needles - however, I think it's only complete and utter bs.
But I would love to know the sources of him injecting himself with needles (makes him no better than a common junkie :'(, regardless of b12 vitamin) with the b12

You're right, it's absolute crap! Where on earth did you hear that one?? It was B12 that he took just before going on stage for Aloha.

That's just silly. To equate the use of B12 - a vitamin known to give an energy boost - with the other drugs Elvis used is grossly unfair. As for sources: Charlie, the MM, various biographies. It is no different than taking an energy drink that is available today, really.
And if you think because Elvis took prescription drugs etc, that he was "no better than a common junkie", why are you a fan if that's the way you feel about him?

Yes, that's one of the many things I read in EP & the MM too. About the" urine of a pregnant woman." I don't think much of what Lacker says though.
As for EP taking B12 IM; many have to do that with anemia. I had a grandmother and now a grand daughter with pernicious anemia. When the iron gets too low; a B12 shot is given. Otherwise, they can use the tablets.

Yes, and when you have anemia, some of the symptoms are tiredness and depression.
There is so much more to the picture with Elvis' story, than what is published in books, and a point of view, which refuses to look, to research, the whole "picture". With friends like that ....... grrrrrrr........ Wish they had thought out of the square!!!!
Anemia is difficult. Exhausting. I know.
Imagine having to support all those families, with everything going on, feeling so dreadful! :'( You just can't do things, depending on how affected with Anemia, it just closes you down.

Again, there is nothing in this rotten, lousy flick that stretches credulity all that far.
It's the casting and general execution that lets it down. With a better cast and attention to detail, and a better script, it could have been worthwhile.
As it stands, it was pure crap.

What do you expect from the Stanley brothers? They are members of the Vulture Clan, a real blood suckers from to start to the end. They will do anything for money. Poor Elvis never really got the chance to be with real honest people around him including very much his relatives.

You can't be suggesting that the Stanley boys were bloodsuckers from the start.
They were young boys, and they loved and worshipped Elvis. And he loved them back.
Dee may very well have been a vulture in 1960, but not the boys.

I'm still waiting ...
Keep your shirt on ...
http://www.elvis.com.au/presley/interview_blackwood_murray_by_arjandeelen.shtml
Also check Goldman (which I'm sure many of you dismiss as total fabrication .. it isn't!); Revelations; Guralnick's book and Good Rockin' Tonight, by Joe Esposito and Elena Oumano.
I think Joe would know if this was true.

Dude, I didn't see any references from her to Goldman, Revelations, Guralnick's book or Esposito's book ...
Never let it be said that I do not supply my sources when queried about something that should be common knowledge in the Elvis world.

Dude (by the way, didn't mean it offensively neither this one or the first "dude", just that it had been answered); she posted a link to an interview with Terry Blackwood and Jim Murray and that's enough for me

Jim: And he used to get those vitamin B shots quite often. Dr. Nick gave him B-12 shots. At least, that’s what they said it was. But we never saw him smoke dope, do cocaine or any of that stuff.
I kept waiting for the one you asked to answer you.
Since no one ever did; figured I would .;)

However, I've heard rumours that he injected virgin's urine in him before the Aloha concert (with a needle or needles), because he thought that it would have "slimming effects"; so this is the only incident I know of with him and needles - however, I think it's only complete and utter bs.
Well, now you know better then.
But I would love to know the sources of him injecting himself with needles (makes him no better than a common junkie :'(, regardless of b12 vitamin) with the b12
You still haven't addressed this "junkie" statement ... it was only B12 after all.

No, not until Marty Lacker said that he was telling a lie

I did, in the next part before the part you bolded, "despite b12 or not" ..it's just my opinion. Nothing more nothing less

Quote Suzan "But nobody and I mean NOBODY beats Dee Stanley as far as obsurdity and disgusting things go, she's just gross beyond belief."
On this I can certainly agree . From talking to people that know her ; especially some of the Presley attorney's . She was quite a woman. :'(
What she didn't know, she made up. Afraid most of her sons took after her .
To put it mildly, I've heard things from people that knew and it makes my skin crawl, I just want to hurl when I hear her name.
Last I heard she'd remarried and was still living in Nashville.
Speaking of the ole biddy, did anyone see the footage on ET where she tried to approach Pris when she & her sis Michelle arrived for the '94 tribute concert? She was holding roses and approached Pris, and Pris gave her a very cold "hello" and just kept walking. LOL
May not have been ET will need to rewatch my tape, but it was one of those shows.
Also on one of the entertainment shows and someplace on the web, I read that David could not use names due to image, name & likeness and that majority of the MM didn't want involvement or their name mentioned.

This is where I saw it (http://www.tcb-world.com/showthread.php?t=16375&page=2)
Page 554 in "Elvis And The Memphis Mafia", and I quote Marty Lacker "He went on this kind of crazy diet, which was based on injections of the urine of a pregnant woman.". I still have a hard time swalloing it as the "truth" :hmm:
Elvis using needles is the thing I have problem with; I don't understand why he didn't take it in a tablet form - please read my statement again
I dont know if you know this, but Celebs have their doctors do this all the time.
Its common in Hollywood especially with stress from hectic schedules.
B12 gives you energy, helps for stress, fatique and mental clarity.
Its not a "junkie" thing
